Engineered for archers who demand versatility, customization, and performance, the DAS™ Stelos 17" ILF Takedown Recurve combines the compact handling of a hunting-length riser with the flexibility of the International Limb Fitting (ILF) system. Whether you're building the ideal hunting rig, fine-tuning a target setup, or experimenting with different limb configurations, the Stelos provides a foundation designed to adapt to your shooting style.
The ILF limb fitting system gives archers access to a wide range of limb options, making it easy to customize draw characteristics, overall bow length, and performance. Pair the Stelos riser with your choice of DAS™ ILF limbs to create a bow that delivers the feel, speed, and shooting experience you're looking for.
The Stelos features all stainless steel components (just like our stainless steel replacement kit) for long-life, durability, and style.
Riser: The 17" Stelos riser incorporates many of the advanced design features found in the popular Dalaa series while offering a compact overall length favored by many traditional bowhunters. A redesigned weight distribution and integrated removable 4.4 oz brass weight offers improved overall balance and handling. The riser utilizes the same interchangeable grip system as the Dalaa line, allowing archers to find the perfect grip for shooting style and comfort.
The ILF (International Limb Fitting) limb pocket system offers broad limb compatibility while providing precise limb alignment and tuning capabilities. Stainless steel tiller bolts, brass tiller bolt sleeves, and stainless steel bushings for the limb pad screws create a robust, durable platform while simplifying conversions between stainless steel limb pads, aluminum limb pads, and ILF configurations. New limb pad materials offer improved resistance to wear while further enhancing noise dampening and maintaining positive limb alignment.
A redesigned shelf features a more natural radius for shooting off the shelf, while the full shelf depth provides additional tuning flexibility. The reduced shelf profile improves ergonomics regardless of grip style. Strategically placed cutouts reduce weight and help optimize balance, while stainless steel hardware adds durability and long-term reliability. The riser is also equipped with a stainless steel 5/16"-24 stabilizer insert, a standard 5/16"-24 threaded rest/plunger hole for use with a strike plate or plunger, ATA-standard 10-24 accessory holes, and 10-24 SRF sight mounting holes, providing ample options for archers who prefer to customize their setup with stabilizers, rests, sights, and other accessories.
The DAS™ Stelos ILF riser mass weight (riser only) is approximately 2 lb.
One of the greatest advantages of the Stelos platform is its adaptability. Pair the riser with a variety of DAS™ ILF limb options featuring different core materials, construction methods, and lengths to create a bow tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you prefer the smooth performance of bamboo, the lightweight responsiveness of carbon, or the consistency of modern foam-core technology, the Stelos gives you the freedom to build the bow you've always wanted.
Limbs: Available with your choice of three DAS™ ILF recurve limb models, allowing you to customize the bow's performance characteristics to match your preferences.
DAS™ Bamboo Core Recurve Limbs: Built with three laminations of bamboo surrounded by black fiberglass, these limbs provide excellent smoothness, power, and shooting comfort. Reinforced tip overlays are compatible with today's high-performance bow strings.
DAS™ 3K Carbon Bamboo Core Recurve Limbs: Dual bamboo laminations combined with lightweight 3K carbon layers create a limb that is fast, responsive, and efficient. The added carbon helps reduce limb weight while increasing stiffness for outstanding performance.
DAS™ 3K Carbon Foam Core Recurve Limbs: A lightweight foam core surrounded by 3K carbon creates limbs that are fast, durable, and less affected by changing weather and temperature conditions. The result is consistent performance and excellent shooting characteristics in a wide variety of environments.
DAS™ Clear Burl Recurve Limbs: Built around a responsive bamboo and carbon core, these limbs offer a perfect balance of power, speed, and smoothness. Surrounding the core is a layer of stained birdseye veneer fiberglass. The rich, swirling grain patterns create a striking visual finish that reflects the craftsmanship behind every limb.
String: Includes a DAS™ 8125 High Performance Recurve String constructed from 15 strands of BCY 8125 material. Features a .021" Polygrip center serving and delivers the speed and performance expected from a modern high-performance traditional bow setup. Choose right or left hand in matte black anodized finish, Cerakote® Coyote Tan finish, or Cerakote® sniper green finish with the limb length of Short (58" on 17" riser), Medium (60" on 17" riser), or Long (62" on 17" riser) in pull weights of 29#, 35#, 40#, 45#, 50#, 55#, or 60# @ 28" (measured on a 17" riser).
An anodize finish is extremely durable, won't chip or peel like paint, and offers resistance for corrosion, wear, and abrasion. A hard coat (Type III) is thicker than standard anodizing for more durability and a smoother finish. NOTE: Colors are not as consistent as those obtained from a film dip. Anodize finish is offered in black.
DuraCoat® offers the same kind of durable, dependable protection you get from industrial firearms finishes. You'll benefit from increased impact resistance, as well as protection from corrosion and age. Your Dalaa® riser will last lifetimes longer. DuraCoat® finish is offered in sniper green only.
With the new anodized and DuraCoat® risers there is now a scribed center line on the shelf and belly of the risers to aid with checking alignment of limbs and tuning arrows to centershot.

Choose from a left or right hand bow (choose based on what hand you Draw the bow string with), and bow weight at a 28" draw length. Remember that with a traditional bow the weight will change depending upon what your draw length is. Bow weight will change approximately ±2½ pounds for every inch from a bows rated draw length. So a bow rated 45# @ 28" bow is roughly a 42½# @ 27" or 47½# @ 29". Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard.
A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. It is recommended to unstring your bow if you do not plan to be shooting more than week. Store your bow on its side, or hanging vertically from a peg. Never rest the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time. Never dry fire the bow (shooting without an arrow).
