Why do some shooting tabs have reference marks? Reference marks help archers place their fingers in the same position on the bowstring every time. This is especially useful for string walkers, who intentionally change finger placement to adjust for different shooting distances. Having a tactile or visual reference on the tab can improve consistency, speed up setup, and make it easier to repeat accurate shots from one end to the next.
