Experience the simplicity and smooth shooting characteristics that have made the traditional longbow a favorite among archers for generations. Combining classic longbow performance with the convenience of a two-piece takedown design, the RD3 Takedown Longbow is easy to transport, store, and take afield while maintaining the clean lines and shooting experience traditional archers appreciate.
The two-piece takedown design allows the bow to break down for travel and storage while providing the look and feel of a traditional hunting longbow when assembled. A protective bow case is included to help safeguard your bow during transport and between shooting sessions.
Riser: Features durable laminated hardwood construction designed for strength and stability. The radiused shelf is cut before center and comes with a calf hair arrow rest and side plate already installed, making the bow ready to shoot right out of the box. A nice stitched leather grip is already installed, giving you a firm hold during wet or damp conditions. The streamlined design emphasizes traditional simplicity, creating a clean, classic appearance.
Limbs: Built with two layers of bamboo core surrounded by birdseye veneer fiberglass for a combination of smooth shooting performance, durability, and attractive traditional styling. The fiberglass showcases an attractive design while helping protect the limbs from the demands of regular shooting. Features reinforced limb tips to accept modern high-performance strings.
String: Includes two 57" bowstrings to allow archers to experiment with different shooting characteristics. One 16-strand Flemish twist string is included along with one endless loop string. Both strings feature center serving for reliable nock fit and durability. Manufacturer-recommended brace height: 7" to 7-1/2".
Available in right and left hand in draw weights of 29, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55# @ 28" draw.

Choose from a left or right hand bow (choose based on what hand you Draw the bow string with), and bow weight at a 28" draw length. Remember that with a traditional bow the weight will change depending upon what your draw length is. Bow weight will change approximately ±2½ pounds for every inch from a bows rated draw length. So a bow rated 45# @ 28" bow is roughly a 42½# @ 27" or 47½# @ 29". Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard.
Bow stringer not included. A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. Click here to see our Bow Stringers. It is recommended to unstring your bow if you do not plan to be shooting more than week. Store your bow on its side, or hanging vertically from a peg. Never rest the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time. Never dry fire the bow (shooting without an arrow).
