Get a head start on crafting your own traditional masterpiece with the Lonesome Wind Longbow Blank.
Already floor-tillered, this blank lets you skip the toughest early steps and jump straight into fine-tuning. Sand the edges, shape the grip, and carve out the sight window to suit your right- or left-handed preference. Note: This blank is not designed for dual shelf use.
With markings to guide your cuts and the ability to tiller to your exact needs, this blank offers a smooth path to a fully customized longbow.
Once complete, you’ll have a finely crafted bow featuring Gordon’s fiberglass, a triple-layered tapered engineered bamboo core, and a striking American walnut riser with maple accents.
Each bow featured color-coded tape to match the poundage: 40# is Green, 50# is Blue, and 60# is Orange.
At 64", it’s already profiled and tillered to weight, but if you trim it down to 62", you’ll gain approximately an extra 5 pounds of draw weight. The brace height can be set from 6-1/4" to 7-3/8", depending on your preference.
Just add your final finish, and you’ll have a longbow that’s not just built for performance, but one you’ve shaped with your own hands.
Requires the following tools: Super Glue (for gluing on the bow tips), Round Rasp, Half-Round Rasp, Flat File, Nock Groove File, Square, and Pencil. See 3Rivers Archery's Bow Building Tool Kit (sold separately).
We recommend Bow Tip Overlays, a Tillering Rope, and a grip to complete your bow (all sold separately). The Lonesome Wind Longbow Blank comes with a B55 Flemish twist string. If you want to use a low-stretch high performance string, then adding the tip overlays is extremely important to protect the bow tips from damage.
Sold in weights of 40, 50, and 60# @ 28". Please specify.
