Hand forged from high carbon heat-treated W1 tool steel, the striker is designed to create hot sparks when struck against flint or chert. It takes some practice to develop this useful skill, but once you perfect it, you'll be ready for any survival situation.
The small flint or chert pieces are ideal for use with the striker to create sparks to ignite kindling or tinder. The 36-1/2" length of jute twine is included as tinder for starting your fire.
The striker measures approximately 3-1/4" long. Weighs approximately 1 oz. The chert and flint pieces vary in size and weight. The entire kit is lightweight and easy to carry in your pocket, pack, or possibles bag.
Purchase the striker by itself, the juteand flint by themselves, or the striker kitted with the flint/chert pieces and jute twine. You also have the option of buying the entire kit with a nice leather bag for storage. Please specify.
