Build a functional traditional Asiatic bow from the ground up with this DIY Traditional Asiatic Bow Building Kit. Designed for hands-on archers, bowyers, and hobbyists, this kit provides the core components needed to craft a custom bow while allowing complete freedom to personalize the finished project with your own shaping, finishing, and decorative touches.
At the heart of the kit is a durable clear epoxy fiberglass limb strip measuring 44" long, 1-3/8" wide, and 3/16" thick. Combined with the included hardwood handle/riser and two wood siyahs, it creates the foundation for a traditional Asiatic-style bow featuring the distinctive rigid tip design that has made these bows popular for centuries. The included wood components come ready for final fitting, shaping, and finishing to match the builder's preferences.
The fiberglass strip is pre-marked so you know exactly where to place the handle and the siyahs.
Once assembled, the completed bow can be customized withstains, paints, wraps, or other decorative elements to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Whether building a bow for target shooting, historical appreciation, or the satisfaction of creating your own equipment, this kit offers an enjoyable introduction to traditional bow construction.
The kit includes a 51" endless loop bowstring to fit the finished bow design. The end loops are served for longevity, and center served for abrasion resistance.
Final brace height and fit may vary slightly depending on how the handle and siyahs are shaped during assembly.
Available in 35# and 40# models. Please note, these weights are approximate as when you work on the bow, sanding and filing can affect the weight. Weights are measured at a 28" draw.

For the strongest bond between the fiberglass and wooden components, Smooth-On EA-40 epoxy adhesive is highly recommended. Proper clamping and curing time are essential for a safe, reliable finished bow.
