What is a paper tuning station used for? A paper tuning station helps archers evaluate arrow flight by shooting an arrow through a sheet of paper and examining the tear pattern it leaves behind. A clean, bullet-shaped hole typically indicates good arrow flight, while tears to the left, right, above, or below can reveal tuning issues with arrow spine, nocking point height, rest alignment, or bow setup. Paper tuning is one of the quickest and most effective ways to improve arrow flight and broadhead accuracy. A free-standing paper tuning station makes it easy to set up at a home range, pro shop, or archery club.
