2011We'll let Leon tell his own story: "For the better part of 20 minutes we talked back and forth. I'd yelp...he'd gobble and so it went. I finally pulled out all the stops, grabbed a three reed call from my carrying case and did my best impression of a jake gobble just one time. It sounded terrible! I was certain I had spooked every critter out of the woods with that one. After 3-4 minutes of silence, I yelped again and to my amazement, he sounded off less than 50 yards away near the edge of the ridge. He struck a strutting pose and basically made a b-line right for my deeks. He went straight for the jake decoy I had set with 3 hens maybe 10-12 yards at most out in front of my blind. When he stopped about 2 feet from that jake, I let loose my arrow and it hit its mark. My second year hunting the gobblers and my first bird. Life is good."
