Our introductory Target Kit has been recommended by the Product Finder tool as a beginner package to get you started in target/recreational archery. This budget friendly kit offers entry-level equipment to prepare you for the archery range as well as some backyard fun. While this is a good starting point, perfecting your archery skills will likely require practice and fine-tuning of your equipment. Additionally, alternate equipment may be appropriate as you develop your technique. Perhaps one of the most important things to learn when new to archery is which hand you will use to hold the bow. For a right handed shooter, the bow will be held in the left hand while the right hand will be used to pull the bow string. We encourage you to explore our online educational resources to help with your new adventure. It will guide you in learning how to assemble and string a bow as well as many other tips and techniques.
Included in the Kit
Bow
The Fleetwood Edge recurve bow makes for a great way to get started in target/recreational archery. This bow offers a 19" riser with threaded brass bushings to accept industry standard (ATA/AMO) bow sights, plungers, elevated rests, front stabilizers, and bow fishing reels. At a 62" length, this bow is stable to shoot and capable of performing with the best of them. The take down system offers a convenient way to assemble and disassemble the bow without the need for tools. Although the riser design allows for an arrow to be shot from the shelf ("off-the-shelf shooting"), an elevated rest is installed to help keep your arrow in place as you work toward perfecting your shooting technique. A bow set-up service is performed by a certified longbow & recurve technician and includes: setting the brace height; placing a nocking point onto the bow string; installing string silencers; and a thorough quality inspection.
Arrows
The Fleetwood carbon arrows included with this kit will help you maintain consistency shot after shot. These arrows are built as part of a multi-layered rolled carbon process to make them uniquely durable. They are made to handle hard hits and perfect for new archers that want to get on the range and have some fun.
Quiver
Having a quiver to hold all of your arrows is essential for target shooting, 3-D shoots, archery tournaments, and stump shooting. The 3Rivers Universal Back Quiver holds up to 12 arrows and boasts a classic quiver design that is lightweight and durable, making it perfect for extended events. Immune to rain and cold, the Universal Back quiver is a low-maintenance yet stylish way to carry your target arrows in the field.
Armguard
An armguard can be a crucial piece of equipment for the beginner archer as protects the forearm from the bow string. Wearing the Perfect Fit leather armguard will comfortably protect your arm so you can focus on the shot. The elastic straps and hook attachment design allows for the armguard to be held securely in place and makes it easy to fasten and remove.
Shooting Glove
A smooth release of the bowstring is an essential step to completing the perfect shot. The glove included with this kit will help you retain finger sensitivity while maintaining the feeling of the bow string so you can deliver the best release each and every time.
Please note: A bow stringer is recommended for stringing all bows. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. It is recommended to unstring your bow if you do not plan to be shooting more than one week. Store your bow on its side or hang vertically from a peg. Never prop the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time. Never dry fire the bow (shooting without an arrow).
