The Gold Tip Byron Ferguson Heavy Hunter test kit comes with one shaft each in 500, 400, and 320 spine. You can try them and find out which spine works best for you. It's a great way to start your path to becoming the arrow!

Byron Ferguson knows a thing or two about arrows. He has tested the Gold Tip Heavy Hunters for both flight and strength. These shafts have pounded solid cement over and over without damage. Gold Tip's carbon shafting are known for its strength, precision, and accuracy. Byron Ferguson's Heavy Hunters are no exception. They include 50 grain inserts for increased durability and improved FOC (front of center weight). Bearpaw nocks are installed, color varies. Test Kits are sold with one each of 500, 400, and 320 spines.

Cut Shafts to Length: Have your carbon arrows cut to length. The length is measured from the valley of the nock to the back of the point. Minimum length is 27 ½".

Install Inserts: Choose this option to have our experts install your Point Inserts in your shafts. Please Note: If you select this service without selecting the "Cut to Length" service, your shafts will be cut to the stock length (as specified in the chart above). Please Note: We use epoxy style adhesives on all inserts and most points. Once they are installed, they are permanent.
