      Comments about DAS Takedown Bow:

After svereral calls to 3 Rivers Archery technicians, I bought the Das takedown 21 Riser and short 57lb.@ 28" foamcore limbs(62" bow) back in November 2012. It came with a very good case and bow stringer. The bow came set up with 1/4 tiller ,8 1/2 brace ht. and was set up to shoot off the shelf with nocking pt. set at 1/2 in. It came set up for split finger style shooting as I requested.
I shot it this way for a couple of days and then changed to a flipper rest I had in my tacklebox. I reduced the tiller to 1/8 in. and changed the nock ht. to 3/8 in. I never touched the weight adjustment screws. I notice it pulled smoother than my 62" Hoyt Gamemaster(55lb.@ 28")and seemed to shoot much faster. My scales said that I was holding 70 lbs., but because the limbs were marked 57 lbs. I thought my scales were bad. I shoot every day so the first bad weather day I went to shoot at Gander Mountain's indoor range. After checking the weight on their scales I found I was holding 70 lbs. after all. This is my first set of limbs to be mismarked. I reduced the draw weight to 67# at my draw lenght and have been shooting indoor rounds at this setting for over a month with no problems.
Because of a review I'd read, I had concerns about how quiet the bow would be. I added puffs and have been satisfied with how quiet the bow is. I've shot 2 different spine wts. of carbon shafts (400&340) and 3 different aluminum spine wts. (2117,2216,2413). The aluminum shafts are much quieter out of my bow. I am currently shooting 2216's with 5 in. feathers and field points. I tried a few shots with a Zwickey Eskimo broadhead and noticed no difference in noise.
I have been shooting since 1970, have been an archery dealer, owned many compounds and recurves, shot local competition for 15 years, and have lost track of how many deer I've shot with a bow. In addition, I currently own a Mathews compound, Hoyt compound for bowfishing, and a Hoyt Gamemaster recurve. These are all excellent bows, but the bow I shoot every day (at least one indoor round) and the best recurve bow I've shot is my Das takedown recurve.

        Comments about DAS Takedown Bow:

Excellent hunting tool. Very well made riser and limbs. Fast, quiet, smooth, it's everything a hunter needs. Fit and finish with the Lost Camo film dip is superb. No stacking at all with the short wood core limbs, even at extended draw lengths. Everyone I let shoot this recurve can't put it down. Definately a winner in my book!

            Comments about DAS Takedown Bow:

When I first shot the bow, I thought it was kind of ho hum. But, since I had 30 days to shoot it I decided to give it some time. After playing around with it for a while I started to like it more and more. The only complaint I have is the shelf which is beveled on the end. I would like to see this bevel done away with so there is more adjustment away from the riser without your arrow falling off the shelf. I solved the arrow falling off the shelf problem by attaching a small piece of Velcro to the bevel so that it holds my arrow on the shelf. It worked far better than I would have thought! Anyhow, the more I shoot this bow, the more I want to shoot this bow!

              Comments about DAS Takedown Bow:

I bought this bow because I was looking for a high performance take-down longbow that I could easy disassemble and transport without the use of special tools or wrenches. It fit the bill.
I got the 'long' foam longbow limbs and matched them up with the 21" riser to create a 68" longbow. I have a draw that's 32" and the longer length was supposed to help with finger pinch, etc...and it did, no issues there.
Wanted to get the limbs in black but they were on back order. After talking with someone about it they suggested getting the camo finished limbs as the black may be too shiny and reflective for the likes of hunting.
Got the bow, put it together easy enough (w/out tools), and was putting arrows down range in no time flat. Very smooth draw, fast, and accurate!
Did run into a very small issue with the strike button that comes with it. It was cast instead of machined and the threads didn't fully line up on it. As a result it wasn't adjusting all the way and wouldn't thread into the riser more than half way. Contacted customer service at 3Rivers and they made good on it. In no time flat they got me a good machined one with perfect threads that fit and adjusted proper. IMO it should have been noticed by the person who had set-up the bow...but who knows.
Attaching image of strike button that originally came with it which I had to get replaced.

                      Comments about DAS Takedown Bow:

I have been shooting instinctive for 18 years and this is by far the best bow that I have ever put in my hands. It shot great out of the box, but when I got the brace height set and the silencers on it shot perfect, it's fast, quiet, and very easy to shoot. I'm a hunter and I plan on taking a Pope and Young size Whitetail with this bow. The service department for 3Rivers Archery was great they answered all my questions. I delt with a guy named Art he knows what he's doing.
If you want to shoot a recureve this is the bow you want.
