There is no way that I could write a truly objective review of my Tomahawk Legacy Takedown Longbow, I really love this bow.
Now I know what limb stacking feels like, my old longbow definitely has limb stacking and I probably would have never noticed just how much until I shot my new Legacy, very smooth draw. The Legacy I ordered came with 55# @28" Woodland camouflage limbs, draw is 29". I am not sure just how fast this bow shoots, but even my wife noticed that my arrows fly faster than my 70# custom recurve.
The riser and the limbs are beautiful. I love the Woodland limbs and see no reason to change or add any additional camouflage finish for hunting.
The bow was easy to tune, starting at a brace height of 6 ½" shooting 3-6 arrows for each setting I made about 5 quick adjustments and it was in the groove and very quiet at 7 1/8". The is my first bow with a Fast Flight bowstring and heard that Fast Flight is noisier than Dacron B50, but I would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Shooting from just inside my garage out to the backyard target, the garage amplifies any noise that the bow makes, this bow is quiet.
The riser grip fits like a glove, it couldn't be better if they had modeled and sculpted it from a cast of my hand, I really have to work to not get the same hand placement and grip for every shot. I read that the legacy was heavier than a traditional longbow, so I was expecting a really heavy bow. Well again the difference is very small in terms of carry weight. There is some very mild hand shock which is to be expected with a light bow, but not even close to the hand shock that I get with my old longbow.
I love the way the riser window is cut just past center. I shot several groups of arrows from 2219, 2018, and assorted cedar shafts, they all grouped very nicely creating a near vertical line by arrow weight from the top of the target to the bottom.
The web page narrative referenced the option of upgrading the bow case to the Safari Tuff case, but the pull down menu did not support that option and when I ordered over the phone the very helpful sales rep explained that he did not have that option for the upgrade. Well I really like the provided case and at this time do not plan to get a different case, but TRA may want to fix or remove that option from the web-page.

The web page pull down menu also gives the impression that there is an option for the Fast Flight bowstring. When I take a look at the Tomahawk Fast Flight bowstrings as a separate order TRA offer a standard or double serving for a better nock fit on glue-on nocks. Since I use glue on nocks the double serving would really provide a better fit. I used some dental floss and added a second serving wrap and now my nocks fit perfect, but TRA might consider fixing the Legacy web-page
and make that option available. The red/black string looks and feels great, and frankly I have been reluctant to even consider Fast Flight but now I may order a second Tomahawk FF back-up sting in the Black, Tan and Green.

Bought this bow for use on elk and because the take-down feature seemed attractive. The bow weighed 2.38 lb which seemed heavy compared to a conventional recurve (~1.2 lb). I ordered the Boss finish, but there were some cloudy areas in the fiberglass. I called a service rep and was told that this was a common problem with the dark woods. I returned it and exchanged it for a Tomahawk Diamond Series and I am satisfied with it.

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

the best bow 3 rivers sells. when u shoot this bow everything comes together. great speed. looks good. well built. very fast. tack driver. if u normally shoot ahoward hill style longbow the weight of the riser is a little heavy if ur not use to it. I prefer a heavier bow for stability. dead in ur hands when u shoot it. I own a lot of longbows this is ranked top two.

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

Love that it's 1/8" past center. Shoots fast and is quiet. Shoots heavier arrows well and light ones like darts. Bow is not overly heavy like some takedown recurves.Love the hybrid aspects of it and the fact I can upgrade the limbs or go lighter. I have 64", 56# limbs at 28". I draw 29.5 so its right around 60#. Shoots my Three Rivers wooden hunter arrows great.Plan on mainly hunting and stump shooting with it.

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

Because of the focus on creating a rock solid limb alignment, a small oversight was made in the process. This is a three piece bow that not a single bolt on quiver will fit because of the bushing system used. There needs to be a "capless" bushing or bolt sleeve that fits the bow and allows the standard take down bolt and brass fitting to be used on the limb allowing the bolt on quiver to fit.

Other than that this bow has absolutely zero hand shock and is very easy to shoot. I'll own it for a very long time.

From answering my questions, ordering and delivery everything was simple fantastic. Three Rivers Archery definitely sets the bar very high for customer support. The bow was at my door before I received the email notifing me that you were processing the order.
            Thanks

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

If I had to describe the Tomahawk Legacy Takedown bow in one word, it would be: phenomenal! I previously used a 53# 58" Bear Grizzly Recurve, and while that is a good bow, I could tell it was not working for me for target archery (my primary and most likely only use). It was a little tough and I could never consistently reach my draw length, therefore it was inaccurate for me.

After receiving my Tomahawk, I went to the range the next day, and it was like day and night difference! I went from barely being able to hit the target from 10 yds (I am a beginner after all), to being able to empty my quiver into a 4" target from 20 yds all the time! Much much more accurate, and I also reach my full draw length every time. I am glad I spent the extra money to find a bow I will be using for many years to come =)

              Service and delivery comments:

They originally had some cosmetic defects in the 40# limbs I ordered, so I received a phone call the day after I placed my order letting me know what happened, and I had the option of waiting for new limbs to be made (would take a long time), going to a higher # (which was the whole point of going to a lower # cause of my previous bow), or getting a pair of 37# the bowyer had in stock (which is what I took). The bow was shipped out and I received it a week later (and considering it took them 3 extra days to get the new limbs delivered to them, it was extremely fast!) Thanks 3Rivers, it's why I use you guys!

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

The legacy 3 piece takedown longbow is superb. It is very smooth and has excellent speed. More importantly, it was easy to tune with minimal effort and is DEAD QUIET with ZERO HANDSHOCK. 3 rivers helped me with exchanging so I could get the limbs I wanted. I have 53# 64" limbs and will be getting another set 5 or so pounds heavier. I've always likes 3 piece longbows and this one gets a big thumbs up. Go for it, you'll love it.

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

This bow is not just another pretty face. It does look really great, but it's all business once you nock an arrow. I was initially concerned about stacking due to the long riser, but that was far from the case. The bow draws smooth as silk. You'd swear it was a one piece longbow. There is absolutely no stacking and the draw is coonstant and even as soon as your fingers touch the string.

The grip is very comfortable. Even though I'm used to the standard squarish longbow grip I had no problem shooting this bow and the grip is far from the typical deep cut recurve grip. My first arrow, right out of the box went exactly where I was looking. From that first arrow on, it was business as usual.

I really can't say enough good things about this bow. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth every penny and then some.

                  Service and delivery comments:

Had some issues with the order. An extra set of limbs I ordered with the bow were backordered (and still are) so the "kit" wasn't shipped. When I was contacted about my service I stated I was disappointed. Within a couple of days everything was sorted out to my satisfaction. The true test of customer service is how they react when things go wrong. They came through like champs. I am completely satisfied.

Comments about Tomahawk Legacy Series 3-Piece Takedown Longbow:

I have owned a 58" Diamond SS for several years. It is elegant and simple. I wanted to go up in draw weight, and I wanted something that I could break down. The 62" 3 piece is what I chose - still elegant and simple. Smooth as silk and zipping 445 grain arrows like rockets. Should blow through a hog, whitetail, or elk with ease. Now I want two extra sets of limbs!

I would pay extra for a checkered handle, and wish there was an option for bamboo veneer and carbon core limbs, but that is just a daydreaming bow hunter talking. Anyway, this bow will be going with me on a Kentucky velvet hunt in September, and I will definitely have only myself to blame if I fail to hit the mark. Well done, Karch family!

I got the 55# and it only feels like about 30#. It is also super quiet. This is the best bow in the Tomahawk line yet. Super easy to draw, shoot, and easy on the eyes as well. Well Done Dale!

                      Service and delivery comments:

Service was excellent. I'm just disappointed that 3R was aware of the problem with the finish and still sent the bow to me. The blemishes were small, but I expected no blemishes for the money. If it were sold as a second, I probably would have kept it.
