It depends on your draw length and point weight, but I would recommend an 1816 spine. Yes, they are fletched with real feathers and are made to be used with traditional bows.

  • Q:

So this is my first post and I'm a newbie archer. I did some longbow and compound shooting when I was in scouts, but that was 10 years ago. I have been doing a bunch of research over the past three months, and I got a very sweet bow for Christmas. My new bow is a Super Kodiac 64" AMO 40# in Grayling Green. After measuring my arm length and dividing by 2.5, I found my drawlength to be 29.3". I'm 5'11" and I weigh about 150 lbs. I'm a pretty slim dude, but I'm not skinny either. My question is: Is this a good set of arrows for my setup/skill level? If my draw is 29.3" would I purchase 31" shafts with a 1916 spine? My arrows should be at least 1 inch longer than my draw length, correct? I should also mention that I will not be hunting, and that this hobby is going to be limited to target shooting. Also, I understand that this is by no means a beginner-level bow. Thanks so much for the guideacne!

I would configure the arrow with the 1816 spine, 30 inches long using 100 grain points.

  • Q:

I shoot a 50# Bear Grizzly with a 28" draw. The chart for these arrows says a 1916 is what I need for that draw length and weight but then the second chart gets me all confused. So my questions is, with my draw length and the weight of my bow, which one should i get if I plan to shoot with 100gr heads? What about 125gr heads? If it makes any difference, I plan to have you guys cut them and put on the inserts before shipping. Thank you.

      A:

The 1916's will work with the 100 grain points and a very good chance they will work with the 125 grains depending on what lenght you want your arrows cut to.
