  • Q:

I shoot Easton Axis Realtree shafts but you guys don't carry this product any more.
Does Easton Axis Traditional built the same way as Realtree?
I want to know if I can replace Realtree with Traditional without changing anything.
    Asked on 4/16/2013 by bbhh

      A:

The Axis Traditional will be very close to the Axis Realtree. The only difference will be that the traditional will come with a brass insert and the overall grains per inch is heavier than the Realtree.

Hi ! I shoot a Howard Hill style longbow 64" #61@28 ,my draw length is 29" ,so my longbow is #64 !

Wyhat spine to choose for my longbow?

I bougth a dz of Easton Axis 400 spine cuted at 31" but these arros are too stiff for my longbow with a center shot shelf +1/8" i' ll cut them at 30" , these will be shootable with my vintage recurve bow !

    Merci !
    Asked on 3/26/2013 by Jean-Claude from Trois-Rivières, Quebec,Canada

      A:

If the 400 are to stiff you will need to go to a 500 spine. Or you can shoot a heavier weight field point to see if that will make them weaker to shoot. They should shot off of your recurve if that bow is heavy enough weight.

  • Q:

I shoot a predator recurve with a stick on bear weather rest. Will I see a difference in arrow flight going from a standard diameter shaft to these thinner shafts?
Asked on 3/8/2013 by Daniel from Virginia

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Yes it may require a stiffer spine, because it is closer to canter.

  • Q:

Tuning these arrows I can see could be an issue especially with the internal components. Can you advise on this considering I like an arrow to weigh at least 10 gr per pound of bow weight.? ( i.e. Cutting while tuning, etc )
Asked on 2/3/2013 by JET from brown summit NC

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

If you want to bare shaft tune you will just need to cut the length off of the nock end. The other option would be to tune the arrows using the point weight to get them dialed in.

  • Q:

Why is the insert 75-50 grains? Does this insert grain weight need to be taken into account when choosing the right grain broadhead for the arrow?
Asked on 1/7/2013 by Boone from Mesa, az

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

These shafts come with a brass insert that can be used at either 50 grains or 75 grains. The weight of the insert can impact the weight of the point. All of it comes into consideration. If you are unsure of the point weight you should use, I would recommend a field point test kit. That will allow you to see which weight will work the best for your set up.
