  • Q:

I'm doing my initial setup for my gear. I will be getting the PSE Summit 66". I will only be target shooting.
By selecting the cut shafts and install inserts option will they be ready to shoot? Or do I need to do anything more?
Will I need to change the nocks to work with the bow?
What is the proper method for determining lengh? I have read three different options.

      A:

Yes, they will be ready to shoot. You will just need to screw in the points.
You should not need to change your nocks to accommodate the bow.
The length of the arrow needs to be at least an inch longer than your draw length. Other than that the arrow can be as long as you like.

  • Q:

Hi! When I order these arrows, can I make a request to have 50 gr. brass inserts installed instead of the standard 11.4 gr aluminum inserts? The specific product I have in mind for inserts is: Item #0261 - Brass Inserts 5/16" .246 Easton/Beman/GT - 50 grain (dz) .

Also, if I have those brass inserts installed, can I further customize the weight of the inserts by adding the Gold Tip Screw in Weights? (10 and 20 grains - Item #6693-02). Do I just need the extra GT Adjustment Weight wrench to make that work or is there anything else I need?

    Thanks!

Yes we can put the brass inserts in for you. You will need a master adapter to put in the back of the insert and you will need the long wrench to the different weight's on.

  • Q:

Hi I have a few questions about inserts and adapters for the Gold Tip Trad arrows. Are the standard inserts (11.4 gr.) made of aluminum? Also, can you tell me how long those inserts are? Are these inserts compatible with all 3 of the 'Gold Tip Screw in Weights' (10, 20 and 50 grains)? Are these extra weights made of aluminum or brass...and can you provide approximate lengths of these weights? Thanks!

      A:

The length of the adapters are about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch long and they are made to go into the back of the insert. The standard insert is aluminum. They will fit both the brass and the aluminum inserts if you do want to use the screw in weight's you will need to get the adapter also.

  • Q:

When ordering the gold tipped traditional arrows do they come with points or is that something that I need to purchase separately?

      A:

The Gold Tip arrows do not come with the points. You will need to purchase the 5/16 size to match up with these arrows.

  • Q:

What kind of inserts installed on the arrows? I recently bought a dozen and had them cut/inserts installed. I'm trying to figure out if I need glue-on or screw-on points. I am very much a neophyte to archery and so i did not buy the points with the arrows, which as i understand 3rivers would have installed as part of the cut/insert installation service and must now buy them and install them seperately.

These come with just a standard Gold Tip insert. You will be able to use any of the standard screw in field points.

  • Q:

Hi, I am new to archery and thinking of ordering a Samick Sage Bow. What type of spines would I need for the following setup:

-Samick Sage Bow with a)30# b)45# limbs

-Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus @ 28 inches length. (I have read that with these "new-tec" stings you should add 5# compared to the included string from Samick?)

-Drawlength 29.5 inches. (Do I add 3.75# compared to the 28 inch norm?)

Looking at the chart, is it correct to add 2 inches to the length of the arrow, so that the tips are not near my fingers?

What I came up with are 500_3555 for the 30# limbs and 400_5575 for the 45# limbs. Am I correct with my assumption?

Also im not sure if the weight of the arrow tips makes a difference? If so, what do you recommend?

I really like all the information found on this site. What a great service! Thanks

I would recommend shooting the 35-55 spine shaft with a 125 grain point and I would leave them full length.
