      A:

I would not recommend getting wood arrows for a compound bow. They tend to have a short lifespan.

  • Q:

I'm thinking about getting these for my recurve bow and was wondering what I should do about a rest? I've heard to shoot them off the shelf with mole skin, it seems impossible to keep from getting some "rub" with the vanes that long. Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

      A:

You will get some wear and tear with any fletchings with extended use. The Flu Flus will have more and other than shooting from an elevated rest (which will still have wear on the fletchings themselves). I would recommend having some extra mole skin on hand so when it does wear down too much you can replace the old rest.

    • A:

I wear a fingerless leather work glove when I shoot these off of the back of my hand. I found a model from Stanley Tools that has a completely smooth plate of leather between the thumb and forefinger. It protects my hand very well plus it seems to snag the leading edge of the fletching a whole lot less than moleskin. Also, I've had the same glove for almost a decade and when I bought it new it cost the same as one package of moleskin.

The Tred Barta Arrows are sold full length and uncut. You will need to have them cut and tapered before a point can be mounted. Points are sold separately.

  • Q:

I am pulling about 31 pounds on my bow how do I know what spine to get?

I would use our shaft selection chart: http://www.3riversarchery.com/pdf/ArrowCharts.pdf to find what will match your bow. It requires knowing your draw length, weight at draw, point weight, and a few other things. We also offer test kits to tune arrows to the bow before buying a 6-pack/dozen (item #4054X).
