Q:
I apologize if this question has been asked before but I am a complete noob and I don't understand how to use the chart. I have a PSE Talon 58"/50lb and my draw length is 27" and some change. Which test group of these arrows is for me and what weight arrow heads? Thank you.

Q:
If I select wooden arrow test kit B and want field points installed do I need to specify point weight or do you folks select? If the latter do you need to know draw length and poundage?

You can select your own point weight and we would need to know what length to cut your arrows to.
Answered on 4/25/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery
A:
You will need to specify a point weight. You could try a variety of weights on them going light on the weaker spined shafts and working up. Once you find a shaft that will work for your draw weight you can fine tune to the point weight that works best for you.

Hello:
I would recommend you intall your own field points because you will be
shortening the arrows as you test them. The arrows in the kit are 32" in
length. 3Rivers will cut them to your draw length and install points for
you but I prefer to do that myself during the testing process. The arrows
come in a range of draw weights and spine stiffness. Before you order make
sure your bow weight falls within the range of the test kit.
I hope this helps.

I have a 50# draw at 28" Martin dream catcher bow. I have a 30" draw and I left the arrows at 32". I put on 125 grain filed points. I got test kit B.
The yellow arrows fish tailed.
The white arrows shot a little high.
The red arrows shot fairly well.
The blue arrows felt more fluid, and hit where I was aiming the easiest.
I would have thought one of the higher spines would have shoot better.
Any thoughts on how I should proceed from here in choosing the spine?
Thanks

every bow is different and each person shooting the bow will change the way the bow shoots... If the blue arrows work best for your bow and you, you must go with them...
When I shoot, use lighter arrows then is normal... I hope this helps!
Answered on 4/22/2013 by Anonymous
A:
I would think you would need a stiff spine but the arrow that is shooting the best for you I would stick with that. If the white arrow was shooting high then you should move your knocking point up and that will make the arrow shot lower.

I have a 50# recurve at a 28 inch draw. My draw length is 30 inches. Is test kit B the one you would recommend I try?

At 30 inch you are pulling about 56 pounds... I would use the test kit that bracket that poundage...
I hope that helps?

Q:
If my draw length is 27.75" AMO, and I'm using the test kit to determine which spine arrow to purchase (on which I intend to mount glue-on broadheads), what length should I have the arrows cut at when ordering?

A:
Normally you will want the arrow to be at least an inch longer than your draw. The arrow can be longer than that. The exact length will be a personal preference.
Answered on 3/4/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
A:
I cut all of my arrows 3/4" longer than my draw length.

Even if you plan to use a 125 grain point, with that long of an arrow and the bow being closer to 60# at your draw I would recommend Test Kit C.
Answered on 2/1/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
A:
Hi Harold,
You should get the 45 to 65 lb test kit this will be the best for the job.

A:
If all your arrows are flying true, than you want to look at the drop off at various distances. If you plan to hunt, that requires a heavier arrow, than target shooting (a lighter arrow will allow for better distance). I will give you an example at 20 yards (average hunting distance) the drop difference for my 50 # recurve is four inches from 120 gr to 160 gr.

A:
You should be watching the arrow coming out of the bow. You are looking for the arrow that comes out straight and stays straight.
