Brown/Grizzly/Polar Bear

Robert Page II
2013

Robert Page II recently realized a lifelong dream when he went on a hunting excursion to Alaska. Robert tells us: "My lifelong obsession fell last, with 25 hours left in the season: A beautiful 8 foot 4 inch Grizzly Bear I've named 'Scar'. I've had a place picked out for him for a long time. In fact we built the family room of the house around where my Bear would eventually be."

Equipment Used
Bear A riser takedown @ 68 lbs.
Easton 2020 aluminum shafts with 5" vanes
1979 Bear Super Razorheads

Bryce Olson
2010

Bryce Olson harvested this brute at 15 yards after he charged a team of dogs still harnessed to the sled. This Polar Bear had a Pope & Young score of 25. Congratulations, Bryce!

Equipment Used:
56lb Black Widow PSAll
Beman 340 carbon
Phantom broadheads

Brian Wessel
2008

Brian Wessel recently harvested this monster using all traditional equipment, including the ever deadly Woodsman Broadhead. This picture just goes to prove that it doesn't matter how big, mean, or powerful an animal may be... they all fall to the Woodsman Broadhead!

Equipment Used:
Self made recurve drawing 61# @ 28"
Beman MFX 400 Shafts
100 grain steel insert
Woodsman Broadheads

Patrick Meitin
2009

This Alaskan brown bear met her match with Patrick Meitin. "I shared this hunt with my uncle, an Alaska resident, stalking this dry, 8'4" sow (the only lone bear we observed in 14 days) while she hunted red salmon on a lake shore. Shot her three times from 25 to 35 yards and she feel in sight. It was all over in a matter of 20 seconds. All arrows hanging by the fletching on the far right side, grouped tight through the lungs.

Equipment Used:
Stalker Custom Recurves Striker Takedown Recurve
Beman Classic 500 arrows
Steel Force Phathead broadhead
Selway Quiver

Tom Huebner
Tom Heubner hunted Alaska for this nice brown bear. He shot it at less than 10 yards with a 660 grain Gold Tip and a 125 grain Steel Force broadhead. He was bow hunting with his brother, Darek, and good friend, Aaron Poetter. Tom was the only traditional bowhunter in the group and he's very proud of his first brown bear with a recurve bow and arrow.

Chris Parrino
2005
What a great grizzly! Chris Parrino harvested this brute in British Columbia using his 60 pound Bear B-Handle Take-Down and Muzzy Phantom Broadheads. Nice job, Chris!
