Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

used it both hiking and hunting.Lives up to it's claims. It is quiet, well made and holds a lot of gear. Only con is bladder leaks if it isn't kept upright.Perhaps a sealed fill cap should be used.

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

I used this pack everyday for two weeks and am very happy with the pack. It is small and compact, perfect for the bladder and for small essential items such as gloves, snacks, and equipment. This pack is very light and comfortable. I feel confident in the durability because of the unconditional lifetime warranty; if anything at all happens to the pack they will fix or replace it without question.
There were two minor things I did not like about it. The first is the mouthpiece on the bladder. It seems to take more force to get the water through the hose compared to other companies I have tried. It was much harder to get water if the pack was not being worn. The bladder did have some of a rubbery taste but it seemed to dissipate the more times I refilled it. The other part of the pack I did not care for was the shoulder straps. When adjusting the straps smaller there is no way to tuck the excess strap, it bunches up. I just used a zip tie to hold it up out of the way.
Overall the pack was great, all the zippers were smooth and the clips held tight. I will be using this pack for a long time. For hunting , short time hiking, even yard work this is a great light and compact pack to wear.

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

This back pack is just the right size for hunting. It can carry all your emergency items. Plus the drinking water bladder is great! It's quiet and built tough. It's so nice to not have to take your day pack off and dig through it getting your water bottle out, taking a sip and then the hassle of putting it back in then putting it back on. Now I just have to put the mouth piece in my mouth take a sip or Two and carry on without scaring the game out of the country. Wonderful item to have!
    You need to get one!!!

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

With the hydration pack filled I can still carry, dressing gear, repair gear, rain jacket, sharpening tools, gps, sat phone, torch, firestarting gear, headlamp etc etc basically everything I need for a day hunt + emergency first aid kit and some food in case I get stuck out overnight.
This pack is really comfortable even when packed to the limit.
Wish there was a mesh webbing accessory that attached to the should straps to help carry head/game bag.

      Service and delivery comments:

Always on time and in great condition, packaged properly as usual. THanks guys.

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

I like that it isn't so big that I feel I have to take along all kinds of extra things. It's just big enough with the water bladder full that you can put in the basics and some lunch and go. It's big enough for the essentials but small enough that you're still going light. If I'm going into a wilderness area for a day I can strap my break down pack frame and game bag on the bottom and go.

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

So far so good! I purchased this pack in Late July for the upcoming archery season. I've used it for family hikes, scouting trips, and my first 2012 hunt the other day. I was a little apprehensive about its small size when unpacking, but this pack can carry quite a bit of gear and do so very comfortably. I can easily carry a full water bladder (3L), a bag of trail mix, granola bars and about four apples (that's more than a smurf!) in the main compartment. There is actually a zippered compartment in the main area for the bladder to keep it from slouching, and ports for the drinking tube to be run on either shoulder straps. The outer pocket is also zippered and can hold my dressing knife, wallet, phone, shooting glove, arm guard and my 357 revolver (LTCF permit holder).

For the outside of the pack, there is a vertical daisy chain that bulkier items can be lashed (jacket, rain pains, etc), but the bottom compression straps are so far my go to for wool pullover, and flannel shirt on the walk in. The fabric is very nice- quiet and soft to the touch. All cut fabric is covered and sewn with nylon which keeps fraying thread from clogging zippers.

Zippers seem okay so far, but badlands does have a reputation for zippers blowing out on some of their packs. The one issue I have with this pack is the zipper run is short- meaning it doesn't zip all the way around; It is enough to get to the compartments, and perhaps I'm just used to full zippers running around the packs. This could also be to alleviate zipper problems (do we really need full length zippers (?).

Pockets are minimal on the inside; a mesh pocket sewn into three equal segments (just wide enough for my hunting knife in nylon sheath) and a wider nylon pocket that my wallet and car keys fit in. The mesh pockets on the outside fit my calls and leather gloves rolled up, but are not big enough for water bottles (why would you need if you have a 100 oz bladder?). There is not a sternum strap, but one could easily be attached if need be.

I have read that the bladders can taste "yucky", but i cleaned mine with hot (not boiling) water and a table spoon of baking soda before I used it, let it sit for an afternoon and rinsed thoroughly- no bad taste at all.

I'm holding off on the final star, since I've only had the pack for a few months. If long term durability is not an issue, it gets the fifth star. Despite the badlands top notch guarantee, there is little more frustrating than gear blowing up on you "out there" and improvising a backcountry fix.

This is a phenomenal pack for the price (many do not include bladder), an unconditional lifetime guarantee, and to support a phenomenal business (thanks 3RA!) to boot.

Comments about Badlands Reactor Day Pack:

I have a number of bags that hold a ton of stuff but hang off of my back making them even heavier. This is a great day pack. Everything fits, there is a hydration cell included, and it all stays close to the center of my body. You hardly know its there.
