Very awkward when cutting briars. I used it for about five minutes when cutting a path to my stand site and then switched to the shears that I had robbed from my wife's gardening box several years earlier. These might not cut as large a limb as the 3 Rivers shears, but the one squeeze one cut was much easier to use and I do manage to cut up to 1 inch with them by rocking the shears. I gave the shears to a friend after I explained the shortcomings. At least he knows what to expect.
