My son got this set for his 5th birthday, and so far he loves it. It is actually a decent little kid sized bow. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their kid interested in archery. The grip is a good size for little hands, and it has a really nifty little O-ring sight. I'm actually thinking of copying that on my longbow. The bow itself looks like it will last for years as long as it isn't abused. Having said that, this set could be vastly improved with one small change: The included arrows need bigger fletchings. With such a low draw weight and short draw length, there isn't enough forward velocity for the tiny "Blazer" style plastic vanes to stabilize the arrow. It shoots much better with my cut-down cast-off cedar shafts with 5" shield cut feathers. At least I have a use for those broken arrows now!

My son isn't quite 3, but he's too strong to use the Children's Archery Bow, so I bought this one for him. He's able to pull the bow without a problem, but I'm scared of the string popping every time he does. It's held onto the bow with a crimped piece of metal on each end. The string's also too thin for the extra arrows I bought to grip onto, and there's no nock point. There's also a hole in either end of the bow where the string goes through and then loops around the end. It just makes me think that it's not made to last and can pop in my son's face. He still loves it and is very proud of it, but it scares me.

A great starter bow for my 4 year old grandson. He could pull full draw, and the grip was comfortable in his hand.
Would have been nice if I hadn't had to nock the string myself, but was glad it was served

This is a GREAT beginner for my 7 year old. He loves the bow. It is very easy for him to use. His dad is into archery so he is following in his footsteps. Hopefully next year we will be able to upgrade and I will definitely buy from 3 Rivers.

this was a gift for my grandson. this is the third one purchased. when they turn three i give them a bow. i have three more grandchildren and one on the way.it is a great product to introduce children to archery and just spend time with them. i was introduced to archery as a child through the robin hood movie and fifty years later it is still a huge part of my life. i hope my gift brings the same enjoyment to my grandchildren. thanks for providing the product and the ease to obtain it.

          Service and delivery comments:

Purchased as a gift for my 5 year old grandson. This definately needs to be sold with more than 2 arrows! As both of them disappeared into the underbrush with shot number one and two!

I bought this bow & arrow for my grandson, who is 8 years old. This is for a beginner. It was easy to handle and he really likes being able to learn archery very easy. I will probably get a few more arrows for him since it only came with 2.
I thought the this item was very reasonably priced.

Comments about 1st Shot Junior Archery Set:

I bought this bow for my son who is three years old, and has only shot bows with my assistance (basically standing there acting like he's holding a bow while I shoot it for him). He is definitely inquisitive, so I thought I would start him with this bow. His older brother was getting a bow, so I got the three year old one to mess around with as well.

The kit was pretty basic, and included a quiver, armguard and tab (both too big for my three year old) two arrows, bow, and a target. The bow is pretty basic and accepts both right and left handed shooters. The arrows are ok, but I would definitely recommend the childrens' arrows by 3 Rivers. They were nice and reasonably priced. All in all, a pretty good kit for a youngster just starting out.

great for a first bow for a young archer, we do not use the included arrows, bought the youth arrows instead. Would suggest getting the string nocks especially for new archers

Comments about 1st Shot Junior Archery Set:

After a 15# was too tough for my 6-yr-old daughter, we bought her this. It's been great for her, enabling her to learn proper form and improve accuracy!

She won't use a bracer, but the included bracer had a velcro fastener that fit both her and me. I was less impressed with the tab, which seems uncomfortable. The simple quiver would have been fine for the price, but the belt slots were on the wrong side for her, so it wasn't useable. The arrows are also not of very good quality.

The bow itself is great, though--and that's where the money was going. :)
