Thick leather protects arm. It does take awhile to fit to the contour of your arm. Weatherproof.

This came as part of the Samick Bow package I bought. Its functional, but thats about it. I dont really care for the elastic cord way it attaches to your arm. And, the knot for this is right against your inner arm, which makes it uncomfortable after a while. It definitely works as advertised, but this will be upgraded as soon as I can afford to, due to the above comment. Also, be advised, if you have larger forearms, this may not fit. Mine are average, and thats pushing the limits of it. There is no way to upgrade the option with the package deal, but, unless you are a younger shooter, or a woman shooter with smaller forearms, you may want to skip over this. Again, it comes standard with their Samick package, but, other than that, I wouldnt recommend purchasing this for a full sized adult male.

I, as well as my 5 year old son can use this, and there is no real adjusting needed. You can just move the bands farther apart, or higher on your arm and it fits tighter where you want it to. I had my husband leather punch it to make it pretty, and "mine" but it is perfect the way it is. I dont always use an armguard, but it's easier to use one that you dont have to cinch up, or take any time to put on and off.

I purchased two of these armguards over a year ago for teaching archery classes through our county parks department, as well as for my wife and children. My wife and daughter are of similar height/build, so each one can use it. The biggest question, especially when we shoot together as a family, is "Who gets to use it today?" I gave one away and am going to purchase a few more for this summer's classes. The elastic cords are durable and adjustable (re-tie a knot for smaller arms). It easy to put on with only two hooks (one on each side, as the elastic crosses over). Bottom line: good stuff!

This arm guard is larger than you might think. So far I haven't really put it to the test. It's only been warm enough to wear short sleeves one time since I got it and I didn't hit my arm or the guard. The guard is held on with two thin elastic cords knotted at the ends and are held with a hook. Adjustment is easy just place the knots where they are needed to tighten the guard. The leather seems nice and durable but the elastic isn't the greatest or most secure way to attach things. I haven't used it enough to say if it is going to be worthwhile or I need to upgrade to a better guard.
