      I was looking for an armguard with a little more traditional look and feel, but didn't want to try an archer's bracer (yet). I liked the deep rich color of the armguard and the simple lacing system.

      The armguard performs well and provides good coverage. I would recommend thinking about size when ordering. I have long arms and the large size fit perfect. The lacing system, although very simple in nature, took a little time to get used to, thus the con of potential slow on and off. The leather washer provided which secures the armguard seems to be performing well, alhough it could probably wear out over time. A little home ingenuity could probably facilitate an easy fix if this were ever to happen. With the good construction, I don't see the armguard itself wearing out anytime soon.

      Leather tab that holds the laces together slides while wearing. It's good for light target shooting, but wearing it for a prolonged period, like a day of hunting, would not be advisable. It gets uncomfortable as it doesn't breathe. In addition, I'm not a big guy, but not necessarily small either (5' 10" 175lbs), and the arm guard is literally pulled as tight as I can get it to stay on my forearm. Unless your ancestors came across the Atlantic with shields on the side of their boat, I would not recommend it.

          I found arm guard very simple to put on and adjust. Leather lacing and tension tab make this an all leather arm guard. Breathe holes make it comfortable to wear against bare skin and may make it a bit lighter. I am a big guy and I ordered the large and there is enough room to slip guard over cold weather clothing. I have not broken this guard in yet, but so far very happy with product and 3Rivers.

                  Great armguard, but having trouble keeping it in position. Might just be me not being use to it yet. Will work with it a little and if I'm still having problems, I might try some type of elastic on the backside for holding it in place.

                      Been using this armguard for a while now. It is very well made. As others have stated it stays put when worn. To the fellow who had problems with breathablity, what leather armguard would breath any better? He also had problems with the sizing. It comes in a small and a large size. Sounds like he needs the smaller one.
                      The thing I really like about this armguard is the easy on and off lacing. Just slide it over your arm and pull the laces tight and then slide the button down to lock it in place. Nothing could be simpler. To take it off, all you do is slide the leather button back down the laces and loosen, then slide it back off your arm.
                      The quality is great. Probably won't wear out in my lifetime. 5 Stars.

                      I have never liked the fact that (depending on the cloths I have on) that I have to reconfigure my armguard. With this product it doesn't matter. If you put it over your bare arm, your shirt or a large jacket it will slide on and adjust just by taking up the tension in the leather lace. Looks great too.
