I compete regularly in traditional archery, and am always looking for that little something to smooth out my release.

In theory, and on the web page, the Damascus glove seemed like it would be a valuable addition to my regime.

However, the glove is a little too thin for my liking, and was almost akin to having my bare fingers on the string of my bow. I gave it to my nephew, as his bow poundage is much lighter than mine, and he does not seem to have any issues.

            This is my first glove, so my commentary may be a bit loaded and biased from the start.

            However, that being said, this glove is pretty outstanding. I shoot a 40 pound trad-recurve and this glove totally takes care of my fingers. As mentioned by others, I imagine this glove is slightly too thin for anything stronger than 45-50 pounds. However I love that the glove is thin enough that I can still really feel everything that I am doing with my fingers, which was personally my main concern when I set out to buy a shooting glove. That, and the fact that it still offers total protection makes this glove a total winner.

              The glove is fair. Leather is very poor quality, almost plastic / vinyl. However that being said; it provides good protection from the string, and being able to "feel" the string allows for a very smooth release.

                This is the thinnest smoothest glove that I know of. The one I'm shooting now is three years old and still doesn't have a groove in it. The only reason I ordered a new one was for a back up. there is no break in time for this glove, I could start shooting the new one at any time and wouldn't have a problem adjusting.On the DVD Masters of the Bare Bow vol. 2 both of the glove shooters shoot this glove. The Damascus is so thin that it makes it real easy to put a glove over it to keep your hand warm in cold weather. The Damascus glove gives you the ability to leave the glove on and still be able to make bow adjustments or use tools with your shooting hand.

                I purchased my first Damascus glove to try a glove, any glove. I liked it enough to but a second as a back up. It does reduce dexterity a bit; however, it's the shot that counts. Once worn in, the glove is quite comfortable.
