I purchased this tassel as a part of my kit for reenactment with the SCA. It is a nice piece, and the clip on it makes it easy to attach to your gear, but the yarn is tied with a simple leather thong. It nearly came apart in shipping. I simply took a few feet of serving thread I had laying around (though any thread, yarn, or longer leather thong would do) and rebound the tassel. It took maybe 5 minutes and resulted in a very handy piece to add to my kit. I only wish you could choose from color options since the archers tassel is also an insignia of rank in the organization I shoot. I would recommend this for anyone who does medieval recreation, or who does rover style hunting as a must have accessory after the above modification, and would point out to anyone who has ever snaked a shot that it makes cleaning the arrows a cinch.

I don't hunt, but I imagine it would be useful in the field as well. Looks terrific on my period loop belt for reenactment. Easy to use, always handy.
