Doesn't look anything like the picture

Pros

  • Easy to wear
  • Fits
  • Good protection

Cons

  • Tight On Index Finger

Best Uses

  • Starting Thumb Draw

Comments about Thumb Shooting Glove:

Alright, so I bought this because I'm a newbie archer and heard about thumb draw. Before I bought this I was just using a circle of leather that some friends had laying around. Since it was just a random piece of leather the fit was horrid and it often slips off.

This glove is an adequate choice for a starter/newbie. Its not very traditional so, you might get a few stares.

Overall its not too intrusive. I was able to nock and pull arrows out without taking it off. I was also able to hold my arrows in the drawing hand, so I didn't need a quiver.

So if you're looking into thumb draw and haven't bought a quiver, this might save you a few bucks.

makes me want to try thumb ring

By Jasper

Comments about Thumb Shooting Glove:

To be honest, this glove really doesn't provide as much protection for your thumb as necessary, especially if your'e using anything above a 50 pound draw weight (mine is 50). I salvaged some high quality leather from an old horse saddle and cut me a small thumb shaped piece to support the padding on the shooting glove. Now it works fine, but another problem is the fit... the fit is a bit awkward because of the unnecessary surface tension created from the pointer and middle finger when gripping the arrow/string. At some moments I didn't even insert my middle finger into the glove to release the tension. All you really need to cover is the thumb. So I guess a real high quality leather thumb ring would work if it was laminated with three layers, and finished to form a hard but flexible leather thumb ring. The good side to the glove is that it's hard to lose.

      Comments about Thumb Shooting Glove:

This is an interesting and inexpensive way to try out the thumb shooting method. Half of the cost of a thumb ring but does not protect the thumb as well in a high draw weight bow (My bow is a 62# longbow). My only other Negative is that there is not an XL glove. I understand the need for a snug fit but it would be nice to have a larger glove body.
This, to me, puts my arm into a more natural and powerful position for drawing the bow. It is a similar position to a trigger attached to your wrist. I would recommend the glove if you are wanting to try something different. It does take practice to learn the release style. Overall I would say try it out.

        Comments about Thumb Shooting Glove:

THis works great instead of a thumb ring . it will not break in cold weather so you can use it hunting . Also it will not fly off . My only problem is they need a larger large. My hands are wide and it is hard to get on and off .
