    Shooting arrows for 60 years and this training aid finally showed me how to use my back muscles. I now know why my shoulder has hurt for so many years.

    I lowered the review score because the construction could be better. I removed the metal clamp to keep from scratching my arm.

    Good idea but way overpriced

    My biggest issue with this product is that 3Rivers actually sells this product to it's valued customers at such an overinflated price.

    My biggest issue with this product is that 3Rivers actually sells this product to it's valued customers at such an overinflated price.

    I developed a trust in 3Rivers over the years and this now makes me somewhat hesitant. This product is nothing more than a few inches of rope and a nylon strap. The strap is actually a low end quality strap at best.

      Difficult to use with a traditional anchor because the retaining string on the Formaster slaps the cheek upon release. I had to put padding on my cheek to prevent bruising.

      Probably more of use for Olympic style archery where they anchor low below the chin although they might get neck slap.

      Good training aid for form and release. The only issue is if you have the clamp to high up toward the elbow..it can slap your forearm. Keep the metal clamp lower if possible. I wish it had a quick disconnect.

      PRO: Bought this as training device for rehab after shoulder surgery. Works as advertised and a worthwhile training aid. Definitely helps develop form and strength. I like that it allows me to train without launching an arrow, but can still release string.

      CON: Pricy for a strap and string. A little difficult to manage since device stays attached to string. Cord locking clamp will slap your arm.

      They really need to come up with a better way to adjust the string length and get rid of the big metal arm bruiser.

      I will mark that "I would recommend to a friend," but only because there is no "might or might not recommend." I would mention the problem with the arm bruising (solved with an armguard on drawing hand) and high cost for low technology and let them choose.

      It does work, buy requires some modification to make it work. For the price, it should be flawless out of the box.

      Overly technical, wordy, incoherent directions and badly labeled charts. Used with help from a physical therapist who found the directions very difficult to apply. This could be a great tool with a clear how-to manual and step-by-step guide for the best use, best technique, and explanation for why. Not easy, but the seller seems to have mistaken technical showing-off for good teaching. The great value of the device for me is to reduce muscle and joint injury, so I was very frustrated. My PT and I continue to puzzle over issues of muscle mechanics. A good video would help, as would photos. So this could be a great tool.
