      Comments about Steel Blunts:

I've been shooting steel blunts on ground squirrels for 35 years in Idaho. They used to be EVERYONE's standby. Crazy that they're hard to find now...thank you 3RIVERS! Inside of 50 yards they fly like field tips, after that I add 3-4 yards to ranged distance. Field tips zip thru squirrels and they escape. These blunts have just enough thump to shock kill and often do not pass thru. Even burried into a stump they pull out...field tips do not. Skips are 10% of field tips. Squirrel season is here!!!

        Comments about Steel Blunts:

I tried stump shooting with these heads. They fly just like the field points and stuck nice and shallow into rotting wood but very easy to remove, or bounce back a little when I hit some harder wood. However one time I missed and one of my arrow hit a rock underneath. The head and insert collapsed into the arrow but after I peel out the broken arrow, I found the head only had a tiny scratch on them. Very sturdy heads that will outlast my arrows. I also use them to heat up the glue when I try to replace some inserts on my arrow, since they are not expensive and offer nice grip for my pilar. Highly recommended if you need something to stump shoot with.

          Comments about Steel Blunts:

These blunts are well made and work well. I have only used them for back yard target practice. However, I have no doubt that they will work well for hunting small game and stump shooting. In fact I have missed my target a few times and put my arrow through the gate of my privacy fence and not damaged the blunt at all. In fact on one shot I hit the steel gusset for the gate and put a 1/16th of an inch dent in the steel without any damage to the blunt. Needless to say it destroyed my aluminum arrow shaft and pushed the blunt and insert up the shaft a couple of inches.

            Comments about Steel Blunts:

I wanted to sharpen my accuracy and keep from getting stale by shooting at drink cans and plastic bottles. These blunts allow me to have fun with that without the arrows snaking under the grass so bad. They shoot just like field points of the same weight, so there is no adjustment needed.

Shot these in a side by side comparison with the Hex and Hammer blunts. While I preferred the Hex, if tunnelling under grass is not a concern for your shooting, these are great.
