These points are just the ticket for getting attention at the range. They are heavy. Mine (for 5/16' diameter shafts) weigh 225 grains. Once I adjusted for the extra weight they were quite accurate. The outer casing is removable (unscrews) for cleaning. Anyone who has an interest in Central Asian/Asian archery or just wants a cool novelty item should check these out.

These are not quite as loud as I expected. More of a 'shhhhhhh' noise rather than a true whistle. They can be tough to get out of a target since the diameter is wider than I expected. If you shoot into dirt, you need to take it apart to clean out the dirt. Not very useful. Guess they would be good if you were into re-enactments or SCA, but that's not my thing.

For entertainment only really, using for aerial trap, just fun on the range with flu's and great around the kids....lots of laughs...quality,very well made.
Holes plug up easily but that's to be expected.

          I am a member of two historical archery groups, medieval (1066-1700s) and Ancient arts (pre 1066). At the end of a competition, or even a morning of target practice, we always have a couple of "flu flu" shots, where we aim our whistling arrows into the sky and all fire off at once. The spectacle is amazing, both because of the larger and more colourful arrows, and because of the whistling noise that the whistling points make. It releases the tension of any poor results for the day, makes everyone laugh, and draws the attention of all the other modern archers. I highly recommend you give these whistling points a try - they're awesome fun!

          The whistling tip functioned very well, but I shoot an 85# recurve and normally use 225 grain tips...so the 230 grain whistle tip flew well. It is a shame this is not made in 125 grains, which most of my friends use. I scalloped the face of the base with my dremel tool, reducing the weight by five grains and it was even louder and more accurate for me. Thanks

          It was a blast screwing these on and letting them sail down to our target set up at 80yds The guys had no idea I had them and it blew them away. "what is wrong with that arrow" one says. and after I let the second one fly they were hooked. "hey man where did you get those?" 3Rivers Archery Equipment online. I am very impressed with the quality of the tips I will be buying more even though they are a little pricey. Thanks 4 the great fun and keeping us hooked on our sport of Archery.
