The Woodsman Elite is the best broadhead I've used, and I've used a lot of them. The steel is of great quality - it takes a razor sharp edge and holds it! The precision, design and durability of the head are without match. The Woodsman Elite resolves some of the minor issues with the old Woodsman in the areas of steel quality, durability, and the slight irregularity of the blades in the area over the vents.

I shot a mature mule deer buck with a 250 grain Elite - the arrow went through the buck like he wasn't there, and was still razor sharp when I picked it up 10 yards beyond where the buck had been standing. The buck went less than 50 yards.

I've taken a lot of deer with the Woodsman broadhead, but I wasn't happy with how well they held up after they bounced off bones. They always seemed to bend just enough to affect their accuracy, not to mention how hard they were to sharped after being bent a litte.
So I was excited to try the Elites, especially after watching the video of them surviving a direct hit on a cinder block.
Well, the first time I used one I shot at a whitetail doe and crowded the shoulder blade. Got the penetration I needed, but sure enough, the tip of the broadhead is bent to the point where it it basically unusable.
I was hoping to use the Elites on moose and elk... I'm not sure now.

        Gave this broadhead 4 stars in my previous review....well I just got my first traditional harvest and my arrow was tipped with non other than a woodsman elite 200 gr. broadhead and it met and exceeded my expectations. I stalked up on my deer within 12 yards in wind and snow and made a perfect shot. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks 3 rivers.

          Just received the 200 grain woodsman elite version that is non-vented and so far so good (great accuracy and penetration into my block target). The edge was sharp enough out of the package to hunt with but could use a little grooming. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because I have yet to harvest an animal with them.

              I looked at a lot of broadheads when it came time for me to upgrade my compound setup after my current broadheads went out of production. I settled on the Woodsman ELITE screw-in in 100 gr. because I was so impressed with the 125 gr. glue-ons that I use with my longbow setup. The ELITES all spun perfectly and flew like field points. The first shot into a Rhinehart target drove almost all the way through it with a 60 lb. draw from 20 yards. Can't wait to try them on game. I got them because of the taper, one piece construction, ability to resharpen and history of success with the previous product (125 glue-ons). Woodsmans are exceptional broadheads. The only reason I haven't rated them a 5 is because I haven't hunted with them yet. When I pick one up from the other side of a big hog, resharpen it and put it back in my quiver I'll revise this review.

                Well built broadhead, sharp, shoots well and holds up. I have not had a chance to hunt with them so I can't say about penetration through bone but they have held up well in targets designed to stop broadheads. I like the fact that they are a bit longer than other broadheads, I feel this gives better cutting surfaces and aids in penetration.

                  1) I should have known I'd regret ordering the vented version of this broadhead. They whistle all the way to the target. For 10 grains more, try the non-vented.

                  2) Don't know why a broadhead would be sold partially sharp (according to the package).

                  3) Hard to return a broadhead in new condition when you've got to try it first.
