    I shot a wild boar with the Elite Broadhead. The boar travelled maybe 70 yrds at the most. There was not a scratch on the broadhead after cracking a rib, and then having the boar roll over on the arrow.
    Easy to sharpen, tough as a machine shop cutting tool, and wicked accurate. I really cannot think of an improvement, IMHO just the best broadhead you can get.

    I've used Woodsman broadheads for years. I've killed bear, caribou, whitetail and moose with them. I won't shoot anything else. Seeing the new Elete I thought; "give em a look". Too bad, they are not up to the original.

    Although advertized here as shooting sharp, my friend and I checked them and found that not to be the case. Very not. Fine print on the back of the package advises that they must be "honed before hunting". They did sharpen up OK.

    They are SMALLER! Yes, shorter and have a smaller ferrule than the standard woodsmans. I shoot a tapered shaft to put some weight forward. These new Eletes don't fully seat on the taper like the originals do. And yes, the whole broadhead is shorter. Since it retains the 3:1 ratio, that means the cutting width must be less also, although the advertizing claims otherwise.

    These new Elites are not a substitute for the original. I'm not going to use them and would not recommend them.

      I mounted 160 gr. glue-ons to 32 gr. adapters on full length 2219s. I shot a cow elk at 25-30 yds with a 60 lb longbow, behind right shoulder, Woodsman came out in front of left shoulder. The heart shot elk went about 25 yards and down. Great head, super easy to get sticky sharp. Shooting in a block of strofoam at 20 yds. the Woodsmans penetrated 1 1/2" deeper than 2 blades of the same weight every time.

            So glad to see that hunters now have the option to get a Woodsman that is heavier than 125gr. However, there is a design flaw in the 200 gr screw-in Woodsman Elite, I recently received, that negates all the great characteristics of this head. The ferrule is so slender that the arrow insert protrudes significantly when the head is screwed in. The transition from broad head to arrow shaft is far from smooth which will greatly inhibit penetration. I bought 160gr glue-on heads and added a 42gr screw-in adapter to eliminate the problem. I would not recommend using the screw-in model until this flaw is corrected

            The woodsman broadhead is well made and very very accurate.I found it a bit tricky to get a good hunting edge on it , but after trying some different files and stones I was able to get a very keen edge.Now that I know what to use it's much faster to sharpen.

              Use these broad heads very carefully. You don't have to shoot them to cause accidental harm. They are strong, well fashioned, and used properly will bring down just about anything I can think of.

                      I tried to keep a biased mind when I first bought these heads, because they looked perfect. Turns out...they were.
                      First, I was amazed at how well they mounted straight on my fir shafts. No heating, twisting, rotating, and reheating here. The target butts further showed how well they worked. The grouped right with my field tips and Snuffers, and out-penetrated both with ease. Not to mention, they have the old woodsmans beat with completely noiseless flight. Not that I minded the slight hiss, but it appears to have left the broadhead along with the vents.
                      Let's not forget ease of sharpening, either. The old woodsmans were as easy to sharpen as any head out there. Until now. No matter how beat up these new heads get, its just a quick use of a 12" file, 1200-grit diamond hone, 2000-grit sandpaper, and stropping on cardboard to bring them back to a frightening level of sharpeness.
                      All these pros add up to my new favorite, do-it-all broadhead. Now if only I can connect this season...

                        I had to try the new Elite when it first came out and I'm glad I did. I believe they're the best 3 blade head I've ever used. The only (minor) con is the vented versions can hiss. If that bothers you go for the solid heads. I usually shoot 2 blades but I like these so much they are sharing quiver space with them this year. I've not taken an animal yet but I know a high penetration head when I see one. Flight is fantastic too.

                        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
