Comments about Tempest Screw-In Broadheads:

I do not like these heads. They whistle in flight with and without the bleeders installed. They do come hunt-ready sharp, which is a plus. However, the manufacturers instructions included with the heads state that they recommend the user to file the needle point tip down to a spade point. Really? If they recommend it, then why not sell them with the spade point? Those instructions to file the tip made me question my purchase, but the "nail in the coffin" was the loud whistling in flight.

    Tempest broadheads have been real solid broadheads from my use.They sharpen easy and hold their edge well being stainless steel.I have taken very large mature wild hogs and whitetail deer without any issues from 45lb to 52lb Trad bows. I don't use the bleeder blades myself on these broadheads every animal I have harvested with these broadheads as been down in less than 60 yards. Overall I like these broadheads I shoot them year around never broke one yet.I think these broadheads are becoming one of my favorites hogs,deer,and turkey.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I bought 9 of these in anticipation of a Saskatchewan bear hunt. I wanted a heavy 2 bladed broadhead for maximum penetration. They fly great, but the problem with these broadheads is durability. I have already broken two while shooting my Glendel Buck (not a particularly demanding target, layered foam with no bones or teeth!!) The blade is welded to the ferrule in two spots and the welds fail. They might be O.K. for lesser game, but I wouldn't recommend them for dangerous game or heavy boned animals.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
