Not enough bang for the buck

I used this product last year to hunt African game.

The good thing about this product is it's accuracy; arrows perform just like they were fitted with field-points.

I used this product last year to hunt African game.

The good thing about this product is it's accuracy; arrows perform just like they were fitted with field-points.

    The cons are:
    1. It cannot handle hitting bone
    2. Poor quality steel in the edge, hard to put an edge on it, and the edge is lost very quickly.

Comments about Howard Hill 2-Blade Broadheads:

Having always used another brand of head, i thought id try the Howard Hills this season, and the results were great!
Shot a large doe through the heart, upon examination the heart looked much like a butterfly pork chop! They fly great and are deadly.

Comments about Howard Hill 2-Blade Broadheads:

these are very nice broadheads easy to use easy to tune nothing too them they shoot very strait. i found a different technique was required to sharpen but you figure it out they get zingin sharp my target sit on top of a cement block which i accidentally shot took a golf ball sized bite out of it was kinda cool but it did break the broad head

      Service and delivery comments:

      usually 2 weeks for delivery
product was in good shape however the broad heads were placed in a plastic bag with they obviously ripped out of and were all though out the package

Comments about Howard Hill 2-Blade Broadheads:

Best two blade made. It is the best design for penetration, flight and durability. Doesn't plane and holds an edge. The hard steel does take a little longer to sharpen but it holds. They are a little pricey as is everything else.

Comments about Howard Hill 2-Blade Broadheads:

Good broadhead, it really does fly just like a target point. Requires some agressive initial filing to get it sharp the first time but after that it sharpens just as easy as a Zwicky. I use a cross cut or double cut file to give them a slightly rougher edge. I file them from base to tip. I have not used them yet on any animals but I see no reason why they would not work better than any Zwicky because of their long length and curved cutting edge.

Comments about Howard Hill 2-Blade Broadheads:

I haven't had a chance to use the Howard Hill broadhead points in a hunting situation as of yet.
However, they are very well made and do not windplane when shot, but, and I suppose this is for safety reasons, they are no where near sharp when received and have to be hand sharpened before being attached to the arrow shaft.
Shooting into foam rubber targets and the ground the broadheads hold their edge fairly well, but do require a touch-up after about a half-dozen shots into dirt or sand. Shooting into a foam target doesn't dull the broadheads nearly as soon. But I touch them up after 18 to 24 "ends" into the foam target. As to the delivery- service end of this purchase I have no complaints whatsoever. However I do have a suggestion (which I have no doubt will be dismissed.) I know it would be a boon to the consumer and the seller if all the mail order outfits on the internet and elsewhere would pay the shipping costs for the products sold by them.
I realize this is an unorthodox request but I feel that sales would increase if the expense of shipping would be takenup by the seller.
