Tougher than they look!!!!

Was really impressed by how tough and durable these points are. After hafting them onto some ash shafts I was test shooting them into a target made of cattail reeds stacked tightly between twos sets of 3 inch oak limbs driven into the ground for support. One of my shots "strayed" a bit and centered the the 3 inch oak support. The trade point imbedded close to an inch into the oak and could not be pulled out until I took my hunting knife and did some major "surgery" on my target support. The point on removal seperated from the arrow but was undamaged, and unbent. It was rehafted, resharpened and ready to hunt with.
These points are wickedly sharp with a single bevel edge applied with a single-cut file!

Just make sure you make a slot in the shaft that is as straight as possible. Otherwise easy to install and haft to the shaft. Flys accurate and penatrate well. I coat them with vasaline to prevent rust.

I use this blade for smaller game with a primitive self bow and they work great for that purpose. Fun to put on and quite easy. Didn't wand to use expensive brodheads for tree rats and such so these fit the bill. However they would work just fine on a larger animal with proper placement. Put some turkey fetching on and go primitive!

for me the tricky part is getting a straight groove at the head of the arrow. I dont have a circular saw. The premise is nice. slide the base of the point in the slot of the arrow and wind thread around the grooves. it looks good, feels good and althought i dont hunt, the various things i shoot at...it seems to penetrate nicely.
