      I use a 65# yew longbow mostly for recreation, although I've killed a few feral hogs here in South Texas with it.

      For target practice, and for 150-yard shooting at a French man-at-arms (disguised as a plastic garbage can), these long bodkin points complement the traditional medieval cut swan feather fletching to make a nice looking arrow that hits where I look..

            I participate in Medieval pageants and ceremonies. I made my bow and arrows. These bodkin points are very close to those used during the 100 years war. They show the weapons used by the English archers to defeat the armor of the French knights. They are a good compliment to the broadheads I picked up at a medieval market in Germany. I will probably never shoot them, but will use them as teaching aids and in demonstrations of medieval weapons.

              A little hard to put on the shaft but not dificult. It takes longer to get it right because I use a pocket knife and sand paper but it's exact. These hit very hard on a target...kind of like a led mini ball from a black powder fire arm. I use to hunt and I think these would do great for deer. As hard as they hit, it would bring it down pretty fast.

                  I had been looking for some medieval style bodkin tips for quite a while. There was even a point where I was gonna try to make my own but didn't have much luck. At the end of the day, I was not impressed with their performance plus it was pretty hard work.

                  I decided to order these bodkin tips because I've heard so much about how bodkins are great for good penetration. Boy, were they right! When these arrived, I noticed that they seemed very well crafted but also had a "traditional, straight out the forge" look and feel to them. I ended up fashioning them on to a 3/8 shaft and they performed amazingly! Whatever you hit with these things....it destoys! Good penetration with a little taper work on the shaft.

                  I wouldn't recommend these for 1/2 inch war bow arrows as it just doesn't seem to have a good fit. With the 3/8 shaft, it fits perfect, looks good and has plenty of weight for maximum penetration. I definately will order more of these!

                  well, There is a lot to say about these great points! When I shoot these points I like to shoot at long distances. It is extremely special to lob an arrow 200 yards but when the arrow is tipped with one of these bodkins it is just like a dream come true! That being said when I shoot at this distance I don't always hit the target, but instead I hit rocks buried in the ground. This causes the point to bend. Something which is not helpful for someone who is already not the best shot. So I decided to put the lobbing to a minimum and shoot these at 10-60 yards. Around this range I don't miss and hit the ground, so my bodkins stay nice and straight. My point being these are amazing, but kind of fragile. If they're treated right you'll have absolutely no problem with these.

                    WOW!!!!
                    Deep penetrating!
                    Recommend using a heavy weight arrow without question.
                    This tip will embed itself easily into plywood .5 to .75"!
                    Causing light weight arrows to break simply trying to remove them!

                    Great to plinking items you want to put an arrow through without wasting a broadhead but need more punch than a field point.

                    These tips are a lot of fun but be careful.
