              I have used woodsman broadheads for years and have always struggled with getting them consistantly sharp using a file. I used to become frustrated with some specific woodsmans that I could not get sharp enough to hunt with using a file. Not now, this little sharpener does a great job getting all my broadheads hunting sharp with little effort.

                  Best in-the-field sharpening tool for three bladed broadheads I have found in 40 years of looking! Very easy to use with excellent results. I also like to dress down the edge a little with a very fine stone for "scary sharp" results. In a pinch the back of the sharpener serves the same function as a stone, but I like the stone better if available.

                      my fishing fillet knife was so messed up, i used it for everything but filleting fish. thought the nicks would ever come out. just got done cutting a piece of paper longways. i just ordered woodsman broadheads, that will be the true test for me. i will keep you all posted. bless you all.                         I've always been a little dubious of "draw through" types of sharpeners, since most of them are cheap and leave a lot to be desired. But this sharpener is something else entirely - by alternating between the blades and the honing surface on the backside, I was able to get a great edge very quickly. This is now my preferred tool for most of my sharpening duties. I can see owning several.

                        For sharpening broadheads, the inexpensive "broadhead holder" (#8063-1) that 3 Rivers also sells is a good idea.

                          I use files, stones, diamond sharpeners, strops and steel to ensure that my knives, and broadheads are up for the job. Then, I ran into this little gem. It is absolutely fantastic for in the field or at home, but I like it in the field. If I'm unsuccessful during my hunt, I don't mind relieving my boredom by blasting my broadheads into stumps while I walk out of the woods or while I move onto another area, because I can just whip out this piece of equipment and touch the blade right up. I love it.

                              I purchased this sharpener to touch up my Woodsman broadheads in the field if necessary. I typically sharpen them with a file and finish on ceramic. I gave the CC Broadhead sharpener a try on a new Woodsman and I was immediately impressed with the edge I got in just a few strokes. Works much faster than the file. I flipped it over and did a little honing on the ceramic side and tested the edge. I'm not an expert at sharpening, yet, with every test I typically use the results were as good (maybe better) with the CC Sharpener as I get with my longer method. It also took a fraction of the time.

                              If some of you are more critical of your edge, you will still find this a valuable tool for the field. For me, I think I just saved a lot of time sharpening broadheads and turned a dreaded chore into a fun one! I'm very pleased Three Rivers came out with a version to sharpen the Woodsman.

                              Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                                ...But that's no longer the case. I've used lots of different sharpeners over the years and had settled on using ceramic sticks with excellent results. I decided to give this sharpener a try because of the compact size and since I just switched to the Woodsman broadheads.
                                I've used it on my Woodsman broadheads and knives of all sizes and it works amazingly well. Perfect size, not too big or too small. The honing surface is a nice addition, if ever I find a use for it, since the carbide blades work so well. Just remember to use a light touch!
