    I make my own arrows from scratch and have used the feathers harvested from turkey hunts. In the past, I would shape the feather base using a knife and sandpaper. This process did not produce the consistant base I was looking for. After using the feather grinding system, I now have the perfectly sized base that looks great and makes glueing the feather unto the shaft easy. Coupled with the Little Chopper feather cutter, I now make feathers that look and act like feathers purchased from a commercial company. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to utilize other parts of game taken besides the meat.

      This is an excellent and very well thought-out jig. Very easy to use and produces first-rate results every time. Each feather is ground to exactly the same thickness every time. I make a lot of arrows, using different styles and colours of feather, and the 3-Rivers Grinding Jig has been the best tool I've ever used in 26 years of being involved with archery. One thing which is especially good about this product is the guide-wheel on the drum sander itself. This stops the quill from being ground-down too far. To anyone who is serious about making their own arrows and preparing their own feathers...buy one of these jigs. You won't regret it!
