                  This scraper is perhaps my favorite bowmaking tool. It is very sharp, holds an edge for a long time, is easy to resharpen, and is quite sturdy. I work with hickory/pecan, which is not a very soft wood. The scraper is so strong, about a quarter inch thick, you can apply heavy pressure and it will not bend, but will shave thick curls of wood (for a scraper). I use it to establish a flat surface, as it is a straight edge and will shave the highest point. Overall, it is a great tool. I made 3 bows before I even sharpened it...it has 4 edges. Great for tillering or general smoothing of contours.

                    This mystic scraper is an excellent product, I am very pleased with it. You can push down really hard and take off wood like a spoke shave. or use it very lightly and scrape small curls off like razor sharp glass.

                      I've owned this scraper for over seven years and have used it for not only self-bow and laminated bow building but general woodworking as well.

                      I can't say enough good things about the Mystic scraper. Its heft makes it feel more like using a spokeshave but it pulls a fine curl (or dust) like you'd expect from a Bahco (nee Sandvik) cabinet scraper. The curved tips can be used for fine detailed work.

                      I keep this, along with Nicholson #49 and #50 cabinetmaker rasps in my regular tool pouch and wouldn't want to do without it.

                      Highly recommended.
