Simple and effective. I put a pair of these things on my longbow and they quiet it down a lot. Took the twang out and silenced it down to a low muffled thud. Once you get them in the string you'll need to take it outside and shoot it a dozen or so times to get it "set" and allow it to fluff up. You'll have a lot of loose material come out with each shot. No worries as long as you're outside. Indoors it can make quite a mess. Once you've shot them a few times most all the stuff that's going to come out will have come out and they'll be fluffed up pretty good. Now grab some scissors and trim the little fluff balls down a bit. Not too much though as I've found this hinders their performance if you trim them too much. After they're trimmed up a little they stop shedding for the most part.

Very nice string silencers, I paired them up with a set of Sticktamers and my Samick Sage is super quiet now for a recurve.

Expect some shedding the first few plucks of the string, and especial the first and second. LOL I got a face full of shed lama wool the first pluck.

So far they are working great, and I got a nice mixed white and brown set so it seems color varies some (in reference to the review saying he got pure white ones) So if you have a preference you might make a note to 3rivers when purchasing.

They work for silencing the bow, but not crazy about the color. The one's I received were white, I just didn't like the look of two white blobs of hair on my bow string, hoping for something that would be more neutral color for camouflage. So if you don't mind two white beckoning balls of fur on your string, they do work.

These silencers worked great. Just slip between the string and let them weave themselves in by shooting. They quited teh bow a lot more than cat wiskers did. I have to say I replaced the string at the same time so that could have had an effect as well. The did fuss off a little for the first 100 arrows or so, but after that they seem to have stopped that. I can not comment on water proofing yet, but hey, they came from an animal that spends time outdoors. They must be ok.

These silencers will perform as well as anything out there(and far better than most). They are very light and shed water very well. I was very happy to find that they are very durable. When you first start shooting a new pair you'll get some of the short hairs flying around a little, but that is to be expected with any natural hair that is shaved. Once you shoot a little and get them set in the string, just trim them to the size/shape you want(personally, I like to leave them full size). The neat thing about shooting these silencers is you are getting wool from llamas that have packed a lot of elk hunts in Montana's high country. You can take a little of that MOJO on your hunt.

These are some of the best silencers I have used. These will not take on water like other silencers. When I had them out in the rain, I plucked the string lightly and they seemed to shed the water off easily. These silencers are extremely durable. I would recommend giving these a try.
