    These string silencers are effective when placed properly on the string. I had to play around with them for awhile, and found them to be most effective about 9" from the string loop. I still have the wool puff balls that were on the bow when I bought it, installed, and relocated them beneath the bowjax, about 7". I found this to be the quietest. This combination eliminated string noise by about 80%, and took some hand shock away aswell.

    I tried these because I was tired of the hassle of tying on cat-whiskers style silencers, and they continued to wear out. But I wanted to maintain a scent-free rubber string silencer. I was right in that they are very easy to install, and I'm pretty sure they are darn near indestructible.

    BUT, they left my bow with a "twang" sound rather than a thump. I used all 4 and they still didn't quiet my bow down completely like the cat-whiskers style. These may work on quieter bows, but on more powerful, louder bows, they just don't get the job done. If your bow is pretty quiet anyway, give them a shot, but if you know your bow has some noise, I'd save your money and use cat whiskers.

                  I put the Bowjax on an 55lb Bear Super Kodiak, I was immediately impressed with the quitness of the Bow, I had used string leaches until now. If you want a quiet bow put Bowjax on them.

                      Tried these based on the reviews on this site. Wow! Complete Silence says it best! I can't hear any noise from my Howard Hill Longbow. I used all four, two upper, two lower, alternated the X's, placed them about 2 inches apart, and Wow! I'm sure they add the 1-3 fps the manufacturer claims, also. My bow has never been so quiet. Any animal I shoot, won't hear a thing. I have already ordered more, to keep in reserve. I also use the Limb dampeners for Total silence and no vibration at all from my bow.

                        fulfills the need for a string silencer that is effective and inexpensive....goes on without much effort and looks good when placed..should be rain resistant and impervious to weather conditions...seems sturdy enough to last for many seasons...I plan on using these silencers on my other bows to seek uniformity...currently they are placed on a 3 Rivers Tomahawk take down longbow...Diamond Series
