The hard handle, (the one that represents the bow riser), needs to be larger in diameter. Preferably 1.25"-1.75" Diameter. Recovering from surgery, I needed something to keep my muscles tuned. I might should have gotten the heavier (Safari) size. Even though I shoot 60# Compounds and 40#-55# Traditional gear, I think the heavier model would have served me better than the medium one, which seems too light to produce draw weights over 50 pounds. But I still think this is a fantastic tool to stay tuned up with and to help beginner archers in teaching and tuning their bodies to shoot archery. All instructors should utilize this tool in their curriculum.

The Bowfit is only a little better than my current homemade exerciser made from some 2" PVC and a couple of bungees. The tubing length is easy to adjust but leaves you with a piece of tubing that often gets in the way. Once you figure out a comfortable setup (almost no instruction is provided) it is a reasonable exerciser. However, I bought the "Safari" weight and there is no way with two tubes it is anything like 80 lbs, maybe fifty max. Going to a tripled tube gives an uneven feel to the draw. The bowhand grip does not look like the pictures. It is basically a foam covered piece of PVC and was very disappointing. The Bowfit was worth buying once but next time I sould use some of the design features for the tubing adjustment and strap it to a homemade, shaped wooden handle for a more realistic grip.

well i got the safari model on my trek from 70-140# and i finally broke it trying to get it to where i couldnt hit draw anymore i maxed it out and doubled the tube and went to draw it back and it finally blew up on me i think i was 2x over what it said it was rated for so for normal humans this should last a long long time...boss said it sounded like a .45 when it blew

        This may not be practical, but it would be nice if marks were placed on the tubing to note approximate pull strength. The idea is for the mark to be lined up with the hole through which the tube passes.

          Recently bought a brand new recurve bow as an upgrade from my 30# bow I used previously. Quickly learned that 45# was too difficult for me to pull though. I used the Bowfit daily and now I can finally get the new bow to full draw! Only took about two weeks of moderate exercise to get to this point. Very satisfied with my purchase!

              This is a great tool for warming up or building bow strength. I normally shoot a 42# longbow and it feels like a twig after using this a few times. Only downside is that it isn't super easy to figure out how to use it from the pictures.

                I bought this product to improve my upper body strength so I could use a 100lb draw weight Tartar Short Bow. It has worked even better than I hoped.                   The tubing must be gripped in the "riser" hand to prevent the device from slipping. If it is put down, it has to be readjusted. It reasonably approximates drawing a bow, but there is a significant variation in resistance depending on the draw length of the archer, requiring adjustment of the device. I would recommend work on the "riser" handle.. possibly have a velcro flap that can be wrapped around the tubing to hold it in place.

                    The bowfit archery workout system has helped me with my form and function. I can duplicate the steps of pulling the bow while in my home or on the move. Since my practice time is limited this has become a big asset. My strength has increased to the point as to where I am considering a heavier bow. Would suggest using it both left handed as well as right handed. This seems to develop better coordination as well as strength. This is a great product for the traditional archer and performs in everyway that they said it would.
