I USE THESE NOCKS TO POSITION MY ARROW NOCK CONSISTENTLY ON THE STRING.I USE MEDIUM NOCKS.I USE ONE ABOVE AND ONE BELOW THE ARROW.
WHEN I PUT NOCKS ON THE STRING I FIRST MARK THE SPOT WITH A MARKER THEN I PUT ON A NOCK AND I ONLY SQUEEZE IT TIGHT ENOUGH SO I CAN STILL SLIDE IT.I BEGIN TO SHOOT AND I KEEP SLIDING THE NOCK UP THE STRING UNTIL I GET PERFECT FLIGHT.WHEN I FIND THAT SPOT I GENTLY SQUEEZE THE NOCK WITH PLIERS ON SEVERAL ANGLES SO THE NOCK COMPRESSES EVENLY ALL THE WAY AROUND THE STRING.SQUEEZE GENTLY SO THE BRASS IS NOT SQUASHED ONTO THE STRING.THE RUBBER IN THE NOCK SQUEEZES THE STRING NOT THE BRASS.
WHEN THE NOCK IS IN PLACE I TAKE A LITTLE PIECE OF FINE SANDPAPER AND BRUSH THE BRASS ON THE NOCK SO IT BECOMES VERY SMOOTH AND THERE ARE NO SHARP EDGES.BY DOING THIS THE NOCK WILL NOT SCRATCH YOUR GLOVE.
WHEN I PUT A NOCK ON I MAKE SURE THE OPEN ENDS ARE FACING ME SO WHEN MY TAB SLIDES OFF THE NOCK
ONLY THE SMOOTH SIDE IS ON MY TAB
THESE NOCKS CAN BE REUSED.THEY LAST AS LONG AS THE STRING.THEY ARE EASY TO ADJUST.
BOTTOM LINE I'VE NEVER HAD ONE DAMAGE A STRING AND I GET EXCELLENT ARROW FLIGHT.HAVE FUN

I have used these string nocks on two different bow strings for bows that I have made. The nocks are easily worked around the string and hold fast to the string, but the soft brass does have a tendency to scratch up or disfigure slightly if you are using a larger nock with a normal set of nock pliers. It doesn't adversely affect the string's performance, but is more of a cosmetic issue.

                            Nock, nock. Who's there? Nock. Who's there? Nock. Who is it? Nock. Ok, stand in front of the door so I can see you and tell me who you are! Nock. Ok, I am calling the police!

                            Fun and jokes aside, I have no idea how to rate nocks other than to say if they work or not. These work, do what they are suppose to do, and that's it. I specifically ordered the mid-sized for the package string that came with my Samick Sage takedown recurve bow and they fit well. Only advice I can give is to make sure you get the right sized nock for the diameter string; this is often forgotten by even experienced archers. I also recommend getting a nock crimper to make life easier although a little patience and a pair of pliers will do in a pinch.
