    Design and construction are good, however I had the same problem as the other reviewer. As soon as I took it out of the package, I put it on my flat bow, and the string broke twice trying to pull it taunt.

    I am a leather working Hobbyist as well, so my solution is simple I am replacing the string that holds the bowstring taunt with a piece of suede lace. I am considering making a braided chord out of artificial sinew as a replacement string, as it would then be more weather proof.

              I bought 4 of these, one for each of my traditional bows. They work very well, keeping the string in place when the bow is unstrung. I am sure that these string keepers will also help to protect the strings and reduce wear over time.

              I like everything about this keeper except after about a half dozen uses the string broke. Its a handy tool so I will just replace the leather strings with something more durable.

                              The first time i put this on my bow the leather strings broke right off. There's no way to make it tight enough to keep the bow sting taught without the leather breaking.
