I bought this bow to be a back packing hiking and camping take down bow thinking it would be a mediocre performer but back packable....what I got was a very high performing, wicked fast, quality recurve that I wouldn't take down once set up. It is more tedious to put together than I would like for a takedown, but it is one heaven of a bow. I got a couple of Bear Minutemen Takedowns for back packing instead and use the Martin Diablo as my main recurve. You get way more value for this bow than the cost. Yes as one reviewer mentioned the edges of the limbs could be finished better, but the overall performance of the bow is aces and well over shadows that oversight.

I am relatively new to recurve archery, but spend up to a couple hours a day shooting during study breaks. I also own a Martin Sabre, so I was already impressed with the performance of martin take-downs (though I don't care for take-down aspect). The first day with my Diablo was like Christmas! Shot very steady, easy pull, and packed a wallop. After several days the string began settling outside the grooves. It got worse and worse until I ultimately had to return the bow. I had similar issues with the Sabre, though the limbs eventually settled in with no reoccurring issues. Fussing with tuning, new strings, and having to eat the shipping costs to return the defective product was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I still believe it is a good bow, especially for the price, but not enough for me to risk the Charlie Foxtrot I experienced again.

Awesome bow! Fun to shoot, accurate, fast and powerful. All around good bow. Haven't had any issues. The only thing I would say is for a takedown it takes a little more time to assemble. Other than that it's great.

Comments about Martin Panther 62" Takedown Recurve Bow:

I bought this bow as an alternative to the single-piece wood bows I have grown so used to. My choice was between the Diablo or a Hoyt Gamemaster and I'm very happy that I went with Martin. This bow is wicked fast and highly accurate. There is a noticeable amount of hand shock, but it's not enough to write the bow off as a pleasant shooter. After a minor bit of tuning, I was able to get my groups consistently in the 9's and after only a week or so with it, I increased my average score on a 300 by 30 points.I could go on and on about the amazing things about this bow, but those have been well covered in other reviews. The voice print did bother me when I first bought the bow, but getting heavier arrows and a couple string silencers and it's as quiet as anything else. This bow is so wonderful that I would have been comfortable paying $[$] more and still bragged about it being a steal.

Comments about Martin Panther 62" Takedown Recurve Bow:

I have not shot the bow much. So I have nothing to say about the actual performance of the bow.

        Service and delivery comments:

I ordered the bow. It took a long to come in which is no problem really, mail during holiday season takes a while. The package I received it in was a little mangled. Luckily no damage to the bow or the parts to it. I built it, strung it up. The string was 2 inches too long. So I recieved the wrong brand, and wrong length string. I called 3 rivers archery and they sent me a new string in priority mail at no costs to me. So I appreciate that. But the string I recieved was a 16 dacron (too thick) and was intended for a different bow. In fact a cheap bow I wouldn't dare to purchase. I am now concerned about the performance of this string and whether it will take the weight of the bow limbs. I dont want to ruin my new bow due to a cheap bowstring. I simply want the correct parts for the product I have ordered not just some "oops we messed up," lesser quality replacement.
Maybe the low price has something to do with this. Lower price than other sellers for lower quality parts that "come with the bow."

Comments about Martin Panther 62" Takedown Recurve Bow:

I bought this bow with low expectations about the limbs from Martin (past failures) but the bow shot perfect, shot after shot.
The one negative was the handle. I am unsure if my model was an anomaly (though 3R CS rep told me it wasn't) but the groove where the web of the hand lays was square with sharp edges.
After several shots, it would start to hurt from the sharp edges and shock. I ended up taking a fine hand file and rounding it out completely.

All in all, it's a good performing bow, but design needs serious rethinking.

Product had warped limbs. Returning it was pretty easy, and I got part of my refund in a reasonable time. However the two other items (Bear hair rest, and nocks) that I ordered with it... well, I haven't seen a refund for them yet! Not happy.

Comments about Martin Panther 62" Takedown Recurve Bow:

Set up the bow and immediately had problems with the top limb. The limbs looked straight, but as you would draw the bow, the top limb would twist in. At first, the string would end up left of the groove. After a short time shooting, the string actually flipped to the back side of the bow.

                Service and delivery comments:

3 Rivers is great to work with. After the problems with the limbs, they didn't argue or anything, they just took care of the problem immediately. Makes me feel confident to buy anything from them.

Comments about Martin Panther 62" Takedown Recurve Bow:

Great bow. Had purchased because my 1964 Ben Pearson is getting a little long in the tooth, and I wanted a new bow to use.
Assembly was easy. Not exactly a take and go bow though... Allen wrenches are required for assembly. The Allen wrench supplied with the bow did not fit the bolts for connecting the limbs to the riser. That is no big deal as all of us should have a set of basic tools for things like that. Basic assembly done in about 15 minutes, but I'm not sure I would break it down for travel unless I had too.
Bow shoots wonderfully, easy smooth draw ( I draw to 27.75 or 28 inches). Nice gentle stacking, shoots straight and true. I put a whisker biscuit and a pin sight on mine, waiting for a black quiver to arrive to mount for bow hunting.
A note on shipping; I ordered on a Wednesday evening, product arrived via USPS priority air mail (to NYS) on Saturday morning. No complaints there.

This bow surpasses expectations. Like another reviewer said it is a little tedious to put together, flipper is cheap, and the limbs could use some finishing on the sides but the performance is shocking. It's got speed, great draw, and very accurate. I'm a Martin fan and I love this bow.
