      Years ago I used this bow at 50# for hunting.
      Now, at 45# this second bow is perfect for target shooting. This second bow is as high in quality as the first one I owned years ago.

          Been away from the the bow for sometime...I did some compound growing up but the 12 gauge was always king in the fam. Living in the FL Keys the last few years and spearfishing made more of a hunter out of me than anything (try having sharks for competition!) I found the recurve more suiting for my style. Like anything in life, until you have it in your hands and you can feel what it tells you don't jump to one choice. I do want a montana longbow prob in the #40 range next for small game and fun shoots.

            i shot one of these bows and figured it would make a good gift for my brother he likes it and shoots it real well, he normally shoots a compound and is a hunting guide he says he should be able to kill a deer no problem.

            Great bow smooth draw and fits short guys like me 5'4" perfectly. compact for hunting in the pucker brush but powerful enough to reach out and touch something. This is the only recurve bow i will ever use. I gave my others away

              I'd like to see Bear archery offer a brown or clear glass option for all of their bows but other than that,I have no complaints. I'll definitely be putting meat in the freezer with this bow. The Grizzly is good-looking without all the flash or bells and whistles.When I shot a compound,I pulled #70 at 29in. and I've had no trouble with this bow.

              I've been shooting a Martin Longbow since the late 1980s. Though I've had a great time with the bow, I thought that I'd bow down some from the 60# to a 50# bow. And though I'd not shot a recurve since I was a teenager, I really wanted to add one to my arcenal. I looked over many makes of bow and settled on the Bear Grizzly based on the Bear reputation, price, and my experience with Bear recurves early on in my archery career. Man, I was not disapointed at all. This bow is beautiful and it shoots like a dream. No stacking at all. And it delivers an arrow really fast to the target. I shoot most every day, and am really looking forward to taking this bow into the woods for some stump shooting then some hunting in the fall. Do yourself a favor, but the Bear Grizzly.

                    I am very happy with my new grizzly 45lbs. I use it for target shooting with 2117 aluminum arrows and 125gr field points. I is smooth to shoot and very accurate. It came with a suitable string (brace hight was ideal). It is a very beautiful bow. I am happy I went for the grizzly instead of a takedown. Ordered from Switzerland Europe, waited about 30 days which is fine.

                      Excellent all-around bow. The Dymondwood riser definitly has a reddish color. Next to the black fiberglass it makes for an attractive color combination. This bow has a smooth, stack free pull to at least 28". The past center cut shelf aids in accuracy. The 58" lengh allows for easy moving through brush. This bow comes with shelf pad and strike plate installed along with a well made flemish twist string. I moved the strike plate 1/3" up and replaced the flemish twist string with a 14 strand endliss loop string (personnal preferance). The grip seems more suitable for an archer with larger hands although I can, with my small hands, manage this bow quite well with a small adjustment in my normal grip technique. Overall an excellent bow for either the beginner, with proper bow poundage, or the more seasoned bowhunter or target archer.
