    I bought this bow for the purpose of using as a prop and competition bow at the North Carolina Renaissance Faire. It looks traditional, the grain is excellent, and the deep stain creates a very handsome bow. The main reason for purchasing, however, was the arrow shelf-- Glove shooting is rather difficult for a beginner, and I wanted my character to put in a decent showing at the archery competition. An arrow shelf on both sides was also necessary, as I am left-handed with a tendency to share with right-handers. The Flemish bowstring that comes with the bow is great, but you do need a bowstringer. I also would suggest setting a nocking point as soon as you can if you wish to use the bow for straight shooting as the arrow shelf is curved, perhaps to accommodate those who would like to use the bow for hunting purposes (for which it is certainly appropriate- once broken in, this bow shot beautifully despite being the smallest draw weight of 30-35#).
    Many of the other cast members admired it, and my Bow of the Nagonene served as a backup bow for both another archer and Queen Elizabeth herself.
    We may start collecting these as a group.

    I got this bow for christmas, when it arrived the notches for the bowstring were broken. So we called 3rivers archery and they told us to cut the bow in half and they would send us a replacement.The replacement arrived christmas eve still wrapped in protective foam, it was left the way it was until the next morning when I carefully unwrapped the bow it was broken in the same place... on the notch where the bowstring is held in place. We think the problem with the bow is that the notches were cut horizontally whereas in other bow they are cut at an angle. Bottom line is that both times we received this bow they were broken in the same place

          We just got the bow so we dont know much about it yet but it shoots well the dozen times we shot it today and it's a good looking bow. It feels well made, substantial and light weight. My son loves the hand-made primitive look of it. My only complaint is that the nooks that hold the string are too shallow and will need to be deepened a bit in order to feel like the string is secure. Part of this is that the varnish pooled up in the nook area.

          This bow comes with a 62" Flemish style string. The string should be 60". I shot approximately 200 arrows as a " break in" period. I noticed that the brace height was a little low after this and. when measured, was 5". I contacted 3 Rivcers and asked what the brace height should be and was told 7 - 7 1/2". I twisted the string 2 inches and got the brace height to 7". 3 Rivers should have seen this and sent toe correct string for this bow.

            I tell you to buy this bow for a medieval tournament, and I and my fellow club we have had a great surprise.

            The bow is very light and beautiful lines, has a rustic touch that makes it more consistent with the event.

            It is very comfortable, and agile, in the shot feels much the bibration, but with a leather grip is greatly reduced and becomes negligible.

            the fact that it makes it friendly ambidextrous when lending it to a friend or want to teach this sport to my kids or their friends. I really enjoyed all the Bow

              Overall, this is a great bow for the price. It took little to no "break-in" time. If there is anything I'd change, it would be the arrow shelf. I feel that it's just a bit too narrow. However, it didn't take long to get used to shooting off of it.

                        I purchaed this bow for my daughter (she read the book), and quite frankly I was not expecting too much. But, when my wife and I gave it to her she was impressed, and it became favorite. She then allowed me to try it in the field and wow what a great bow. Simple, but very impressive. It performs well in all conditions, and is priced right (maybe even under priced) for what you get. I would say that a new archer/hunter would be well outfitted with this choice.

                          powerful enough to hunt with. simple neat look. and can be shot either hand. got 45- 50# has settled in at around 52# according to scale.pulls easy with very minor hand shock.was little over 55 when first started. overall nice bow fits what I was looking for shoot both hand.

                              First bow i bought...after the first 200 shots or so I got used to it and the draw is smooth as silk..great bow for first time trad-archers...good for kids (lower weight if course) i plan to hunt deer this october..overall very happy with this bow (i bought the 45-50# model)
