      This bow is completly amazing, the first shot it got off it was a direct bullseye. I have a compound and a olympic recurve but this is hands down my favorite.

        Received my 64" Bear Ausable 50# a few days ago and am impressed to say the least. Very smooth draw and release with minimal hand shock. Can not wait to take this out in the field.

          I just bought this bow 2 weeks ago from 3 Rivers. Delivery was prompt. I only have traditional bows, 2 recurves and 2 longbows. This is a beautiful longbow, well made with clean lines. It is my favourite bow to shoot. It is not as quiet as I thought it would be based upon the write-up by Bear Archery. Their Montana Longbow is significantly quieter (see Ox Bow Silencers). This bow is accurate and a pleasure to shoot and is quite fast for a longbow. It is faster than my Montana. Falls somewhere between my recurves and the Montana. I still have not fully tuned my arrows to this bow yet but even so have no trouble grouping into a 6 inch bullseye from 20 meters.

            I finally received my longbow and I am almost certain I am the only guy with an AuSable in South Africa. when I took it to go show the guys at the archery shop here, they where amazed at its power and lightness. I took a 55#, in the hopes of motivating me to get back in the gym and even though I normally shoot a 50# this bow draws smooth, minimal stacking, arrows go where I look and hits the butt with an almighty hard thud! nothing quite like that! Im sure this will stop anything in its tracks if it doesnt go right through in the first place! Great bow! I love it!

            Service and delivery comments:

            Delivery was prompt, but alas the caged monkeys at the post office take there sweet time in notifying anyone that a parcel has arrived. The packaging of the bow was bent and damaged at the one end and I feared the worst! Turned out alright though...I suggest if you live in a place like South Africa, ask for a little more bubble wrap when the package is sent to you...but otherwise, 3 Rivers always replied to my emails and I am satisfied with their service delivery.

              I did some trading a came up with a 35# AuSable.
              I typically shoot 45# to 50#, so wasn't too excited, but... After shooting it I was amazed! Smooooth is the word, and accurate. Then put it to the test. Never thought of hunting with a 35 pounder but after loading it up with 14+ grains per pound and getting 150fps I would have no problem hunting with this bow... at least until I can get a heavier one, preferably a 50 pounder.
              Oh... forgot to say all my other bows have been hanging on the wall collection dust...

                As a recreational long bow shooter and hunter who has an eye on participating in 3D and Field Archery I wanted to upgrade from my Montana. The Ausable was the perfect choice because it is consistant, forgiving and can handle wooden and carbon arrows easily. My Ausable is #50 at 27" and I shoot Goldtip 3555 with a 125 gr pile and Port Orford 45-50 shafts as well. My fletching is the same: right wing helical at 5". I get better accuracy from the carbons from this bow and I guess this is due to minute organic differences in the wooden shafts as opposed to the consistant construction of carbon shafts. The Ausable is a terriffic bow.

                  I was surprised that 3 rivers had the Bow in stock when I ordered. I Had purchased the 40# Bear Ausable, do to my degenerating body and was very surprised at the speed, accuracy and performance of the Bow. This bow performs fantastic. I have seen reviews that it was not as quiet as Hill Bows, I have 2 HH bows and the Bear Ausable is as quiet and faster. I have found the New go to hunting bow. I am very pleased, Thank you Bear and 3 Rivers Arcery.

                  Service and delivery comments:

                  Prompt Delivery but the person who packed forgot the string and shelf materiel that comes with it. Called 3 Rivers Archery and they sent them out right away correcting the oversight. Just like a hunting situation, as much as I was anxious to shoot the new bow, you must have patience.

                        I do not own this bow yet but the boys at Three Rivers let me give it ah real good test drive.
