Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

In trying to master bare bow instinctive shooting I hit a wall. I really couldn't be confident in why I missed the bull. I tried a standard pin sight, but it was too bulky, though very helpful. I just needed assurance during aim that I was getting my visual sight picture right so I could be sure what technique adjustments were needed. This sight is not like a peep but helps greatly to get the measure of your visual picture and memory of the shot. Sort of like a very large peep. So if I've got a good sight picture but miss left by six inches it's technique and not "did I really aim there?"

With bare bow, I often couldn't be sure about my sight picture. I miss six inches left, and I think, maybe I aimed there. Much smaller and less bulky than compound-bow style pin sights, I really like the product. Adjusts easily and perfect for visual memory of a shot.

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

When I bought the SRF aperture and E bracket I was pretty skeptical. I wanted something that would be practical for hunting and now believe I have found it. It literally took 2 shots to get is centered for the correct left and right. After that, I just adjusted to where 15 yards was right in the middle of the aperture. After a few shots it became second nature. I also tried it right before dark and was impressed. Even without the lume coating the sight could still be picked up. It is really as simple as picking a spot and framing it with the aperture. The SRF will be on one of my hunting rigs this year!

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

I purchased the size "A", what it has done is improve my form. Any flaws in the form are magnified when using the sight window. The only issue is when you're using a non-adjustable sight bracket you need to make sure the sight window is centered on the distance you want to shoot. I attached it with duct tape until I found the elevation I wanted for 20 yards then attached the bracket. It took a couple of sessions to not focus on the sight instead of the target, but then it all came together. I'm shooting the best groups I've ever shot.

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

The sight functions as advertised and is easy to adjust. I have had problems with the "stick on" mounting system, however. In three weeks of use, I have twice had to reapply the sight mounting plate with new double back tape and go through the sighting-in process again. I would recommend buying one of the permanent mounting brackets versus the stick-on, and modifying the host bow to accommodate the bracket.

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

The bolt that mounts it to the bracket on the bow was too short, and no matter how snug I'd mount the products, it added a buzzing noise upon release. The customer sevice agent did mention that it is a 'training aid' and 'not really a sight'. I'm am in total agreeance. Thedescription does read 'Hunting Sight', and after reading the other reviews on it, I decided to go for it, since so many others wrote of improvements. My shots and grouping became and stayed significantly worse with the use of this product. Once it was removed, the accuracy returned.
I feel and think that this device is perhaps best as a 1st-time-beginners aid, and can best help in developement of eye-hand coordination/accustomization of target aquisition, for those who haven't had any previous experience.
I can immagine that it could render a benefit to those who experience optical challenges.
I do give kudos for this inovative device. It's quite a creative concept.

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

I was getting pretty consistent with no sights, as I've just recently switched from wheels to a recurve. At 20 yards I was able to get most of my arrows on a paper plate but not consistently. I suspected it was my arrow sighting as it's difficult to look down and try to get that tip just right, in my aging eyes. I bought this hoping it would tighten my groups and after one day of shooting it, it did. However it did it for a different reason than I thought. It showed me that my inconsistency is my form and not my arrow alignment. By allowing me to quickly sight in, this site allows me to concentrate on the subtleties of my form and grip and my shooting has become much better in only a few sessions.

I had some problems mounting the site, as it comes with absolutely no instructions or guidelines and I almost mounted it incorrectly but by pure chance, I am able to use it as I placed it on the bow.

I recommend this even though like most traditionalists, I can see the self satisfaction in not shooting any sites at all. I decided that for me personally though that ethically hitting the animal I'm shooting at far outweighs my own ego. Also, even if you take it off later, it's a great training tool to eliminate the sighting factor of shooting and concentrate on form.

This is thing is amazing!!! I shoot a traditional PSE black hawk 60# recurve with plunger and fliper rest 2 and "SRF C aperture" this aperture made my shooting like Robin Hood I shoot from 10 to 70 yards for practice and no compound can mess with me in target aquisition without a range finder every time just remember to aim "through" the string and you will be shocked your anchor will change from traditional to target competition. I am truly amazed with this apeture recommend C aperture for a 60# recurve to shoot 10 - 40 yards+

Comments about SRF Sighting System - Optical Flat Black:

I stripped a compound bow (50# DW) to the essentials, no counterweight(s), pin sights, dampeners (Except limb and string silencer/dampeners), and no peep sight. Bear with me! I'm a trad shooter too, but sometimes it's fun to keep a balance, trying other things to see what can be adapted for more enjoyment, I think that's why we do a lot of this stuff. I made a mount for this little sight out of 1/8" aluminum scrap and cut a vertical slot for range adjustment if needed, windage is with the adjustment nuts, very simple--or you can opt out for the pricey mounts. CONCENTRATION and anchor point is the key of course. After settling in with this sight and as my shooting became consistent I immediately enjoyed a faster target acquisition (for a compound rig), allowing more spur of the moment shots on small game. This "loosens" up compound shooting an amazing amount. I'm 65 and my poor ol' eyes seem to be dimming but the long eye relief of the sight (without the hassle of peep sight) makes that a non-issue. Great product, lots of fun. And no, I won't forsake trad rigs either, where there's NO hassle of sights of any kind but this little compound rig ought to be more fun for fishing now--and small game hunting--and deer, and... I'm learning how to use the narrower shapes of the aperture for range adjustment and shots are becoming very consistent in that regard too. Concentration and anchor point, as always, are the keys to successful shooting with this sight. Great product. I stopped at four stars only because I don't yet know how durable that thin looking aperture is. Since I don't throw my equipment around, it ought to hold up very well however.
