    I'm new to the sport but this seems a required item. As such I went with the Saunders as they had good reviews and removed the nock's. I've seen other posts where people could not figure out how to remove a Nock, from what I can tell you use the middle "hump"/"point" and place this in the nock's opening and press this will open the nock and as this point is rounded doesn't cut the string,at least works this way for me. The nock size may affect this, if you have an oversize nock for your string it may overlap itself causing issues.

    Did I get the right product? - what I received looks different than the one in the picture. It is advertised as easily adding or removing nocks. It works OK putting on the nocks, but I gave up try to figure out how to use it to remove a nock - I distroyed a string trying to figure it out. Finally I bought another set of pliers from a large chain store that were cheaper and actually removed the nocks from the strings very easily.

        These pliers work just fine. The pliers can remove a nock or just loosen it, so you can make small adjustments with the existing nock and then crimp it down again. Mine came with black handles, not red. Very useful tool.

        These pliers are excellent in that they allow for both removing the nocks as well as tightening them down to two different sizes (which will fit most if not all strings), and they work great. The only failing mark I can give these pliers is that the external coating on the tip flakes off very easily (a few adjustments and it's gone), but after the coating is gone the pliers work even better.

        Overall a good tool. I like the visibility when crimping a nock set - the curved handle helps in this regard. I like it better tahn other crimping pliers primarily for this reason. Also, it is functional for removing, or looesening the nock to re-position it. However, after using it only three times the steel in the jaws appears to be wearing & the paint has peeled off in this area. I think the jaws should be hardened & left unpainted.

                  It flaked off after the first time I used it. It did the job to put the nock and to remove it (It was too high in the string). It was easier to put it, than to remove it. Overall, it works, but I don't understand the point of covering it with a very very cheap paint that doesn't last even the first use.

                    THESE PLIERS WORK GOOD.THE JAWS ARE SMOOTH SO THEY DO NOT SCORE THE BRASS LIKE MANY PLIERS DO.THEY ARE COATED TO MAKE THEM SMOOTH BUT THE COATING SOON FLAKES OFF BUT THE METAL UNDERNEATH IS SMOOTH SO IT IS NOT A PROBLEM.THERE ARE 2 OPENINGS TO HANDLE LARGE OR SMALL NOCKS.IF YOU DO SCRATCH A NOCK JUST TAKE A SMALL PIECE OF SANDPAPER AND GENTLEY SAND THE SCRATCH SMOOTH.

                      puts them on just fine. looked up the directions to remove the nock stop, the pliers did not easily remove the stop as indicated. solder-less connector crimpers would have worked just as well

                        The black paint that was put over these pliers immediately started to peel off after my first nock was applied. Aside from the paint, they work good and don't have that side to side "uneven" problem that some cheap wire cutters have. Grip is also nice.
