    A great target

    It's really a great target. The stopping power is based on what you put in it. I put a mixture of bubble wrap and cardboard in mine.

    It's really a great target. The stopping power is based on what you put in it. I put a mixture of bubble wrap and cardboard in mine.
    You may have problems mounting it. The bag has four holes where you can put a hook, thread, nail, etc. trough. I built a mount and hammered it into the ground.

    I recently purchased one of these, after buying several of the old style one(which were great!). I am disappointed, because they no longer have gromments, and the sewn-in corners take up much of the target's surface area. Definately NOT an upgrade.

      Bag was not as big as my last bag. My old bag had grommets in the corners for easy hanging from ropes. This bag just had the corners folded over and stitched. I prefer a bag with no targets on it. Deer do not have bullseyes painted on them.

        I pulled out the bulk fiber packing of a prior bag and forced it into this one. The fibers hung up on the velcro and I had a heck of time cleaning it off. The bag is sturdy and I have just gotten started using it. It looks and feels tough and durable but it is VERY noisy when the arrow penetrates the bag. I hope that this settles down after a while.. It remains to be seen if the pros outweigh the cons and whether this bag is worth the difference in price from a plain old feed bag.

          I was disappointed when the manufacturer started using folded corners instead of grommets. It does not take much to improve though. Take a sharp knife and carefully cut the folded over corner stitching loose and after measuring, install grommets using a readily available grommet kit. All you need is the grommet kit, a marker, measuring tape and a hammer. I made a frame, 4'x5' from PVC pipe, elbows and tees and use short bungee cords to hang the bag from the top PVC horizonal piece. I found that I didn't need to anchor the bottom corners of the bag as it didn't move when struck by arrows. When stuffing, make sure to pack plastic bags,etc. into the lower corners as you stuff the bag to make it solid and retain shape. I take it down after shooting to prevent wind from straining the frame when not at use. CAUTION - Do not lay the bag on bare ground when not using. I have found that the side on the ground has a tendancy to rot and tear causing the stuffed materials to poke through the back side of the bag. Overall, a economical and long lasting target.

                    Best target I've found without spending a fortune. It's much easier to pull arrows from this target than from foam. It seems to last forever. The best stuffing is heaving plastic sheeting which can be found for free. It also ships very cheaply.
